This is a lovely pub hotel. Historic, quirky, well looked after. It feels beautifully maintained and fresh whilst being sympathetic to its age. Evening meal delicious. Not cheap, but when the plates arrived each entirely justified their pricing by being special. Pub fish and chips never normally this individual and delicious. Breakfast matched. Staff were exclusively friendly, chatty and helpful.

On arrival the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They were attentive all throughout the stay and took extra care to replenish supplies of all that was needed. They were always quick to answer the phone whenever there was a question.

Food was amazing. Lovely bathroom products and lots of personal touches made the stay memorable. Good location for visiting many sights. Hawkhurst is a small town, but has the amenities you need such as supermarkets and shops. It is ideally situated for a number of attractions in the area, such as Sissinghurst, Bodiam Castle, Great Dixter etc.
