The staff were accommodating in letting me check in late, they waited behind to allow this as the check in window is limited, due to staff not always being on site.

Room was bare minimum as expected due to price to cannot complain. Shower in shared bathroom is awful, has stages where water just stops and trickles out, and is lukewarm at best.

Other than the Lighthouse Museum - definitely well worth the visit Fraserburgh it's self didn't have much. The Beach is lovely but had so many dead birds on it due to Bird Flu - I counted 3 puffins, 2 cormorants, 20 + razorbills, and 30+ guillemots on a 3/4 mile stretch of the beach, Council says it's not up to them to clean beach. but for visitors and locals alike, not a pretty sight. Fraserburgh is a working fishing town and should be respected for that.

Born and raised in Fraserburgh,we’ve seen many changes over the years. Some businesses have closed but there are new ones coming into the town. There is a great beach which can lead you on to some of the small fishing villages on the coast. It is a great base for exploring the north east corner of Scotland with beautiful coastline and also inland farm land.

Highly recommend a visit to the lighthouse museum, which includes a guided tour and demonstration of the Stephenson lighthouse and how it works. There are quite a few stairs to climb, but the view from the top is excellent. We also visited some of the fishing villages nearby. Lots of picturesque, old buildings full of character. We spotted some dolphins off the coast. We enjoyed a friendly chat with the locals in the beer garden, which is a sun trap.

An old fishing town, still actively so, but has the air of being run down. There appears to be very little to do there, regardless of age or interest. Saying that, there beach to the east of the town is expansive and relatively clean. It was good to take a couple of hours walking out across the beach and back. Food choices are OK, but nothing special. If I were heading back to this part of the country, I would be looking at staying somewhere different, where there might be more points of interest, and probably closer to the Cairngorms and/or Inverness.

The beach is golden sand, the harbour can be a busy place early mornings. Weatherspoons always has really good meals on offer. Great fish and chip shops and family bakers. You can walk around Fraserburgh easily, however, you really need a form of transport to go further afield.

Not a new hotel, but room was fine with a recently refurbished bathroom. Food was excellent. Inclusive breakfasts very good as were dinners we had in their dining room during our stay. Location was good for visiting close-by old fishing villages which have a charm of their own. Also visited Troupe Head to see largest mainland Gannet colony in UK. Quite a sight. All staff friendly and obliging which makes for a positive experience.

I have stayed at the Saltoun Inn many times and will be returning. For me it's a perfect location and meets all my needs. The lift is a bonus if like me mobility can be problematic. Have stayed elsewhere when the Saltoun is fully booked and 2 other hotels in the area did not have a lift.
