Everything, the staff especially Louise were excellent and the food was delicious, our room with bathrobes and a private bathroom was lovely and so quiet at night. Breakfast was a great selection and even a grand piano in the restaurant was so lovely 😍

Just Wow! From the moment we stepped through the door we knew this place was perfect. Jan had thought of everything, thank you.
Was so clean, comfortable and well equipped, just wish we could have stayed longer.
Highly recommended.

Good sized room with nicely refurbished facilities. Helpful small touches like coffee and milk pots, and a room fragrancer.

Friendly staff. Very clean. Good sized room. Large comfortable bed. Not a huge choice for breakfast but adequate and good quality... excellent porridge. Can't quite make up my mind about the evening meal, it didn't quite hit the spot, as if the chef was trying too hard....and far too much salt, after 2 meals we ate elsewhere on our third night. Still, a good hotel and I will happily stay again.

Dunscore is a quiet village set in rural Dumfries and Galloway.
Nearby village Moniaive has more facilities including a great Italian restaurant. Dumfries, the county town, is a short drive away for all main shopping and amenities. This is an area for people who crave a quiet rural lifestyle holiday away from tourist crowds. Attractive mountains, historic rural villages and quiet beaches are all within a short day trip, and walking routes start at the front door!

We didn't visit the village as it was a place to pass through on the search for attractions and facilities, although the accommodation is in easy reach of the main roads and the quietness is a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle and traffic queues, even the potholes add a charming character to the roads and remind you that you are in the countryside, where other things take precedence.
As the hosts were so welcoming, it is just a pure pleasure to be in this part of South West Scotland.
