A lovely greeting from Paul within 5 minutes of arrival. Lots of lovely touches. . Ie. Bottle of wine, tea, coffee, water, bathrobes, toiletries. Paul even brought us charcoal for the bbq. It was such a tranquil place especially surrounded by wildlife. Will definitely go again .

The hotel was not expensive and was in a decent position in Coldstream. The room was basic but reasonably comfortable. Some of the bathroom fittings could have done with being replaced/upgraded. Don't leave the window open at night! The traffic outside is very noisy - we closed the window on our second night and it was fine! The owner and his wife were lovely and a) made us feel very welcome; and b) prepared good food - both breakfast and dinner.

A perfect location for a short break. The lodge was well equipped and very comfortable with awesome breakfast options. The recommendation of the Red Lion public house opposite, for evening meals was well received and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. We will without a doubt look at returning in the future.
