Our stay was booked for our anniversary, on my booking request I messaged to request a featured room ( four poster bed ) wanted to make our anniversary stay special, delighted when we checked in to find 2 beautiful Swan towels and rose petals laid out on the bed .the room also had a whirl pool corner bath.

its a wicked place as my daughter moved there with her...
its a wicked place as my daughter moved there with her partner and the grandchildren a few years ago the scenery is out of the world there is mountain bike tracks to use and lots of walking tracks to. you don't have to travel far from chesterfield itself to be in the countryside even travelling to chesterfield the scenery was breath taking its a must visit placeAAnonymous - 10Scored 10
Brilliant location for visiting Chatsworth House and...
Brilliant location for visiting Chatsworth House and Bolsover Castle. Loved the market town vibe and the twisted spire on the church was fascinating. No climbs inside, til the spring and summer though. Some fascinating architecture to see and a brilliantly helpful Tourist Information Office where we got a couple of town walk maps.Welch - 8.0Scored 8.0

Second only visit to the city of the "Twisted Spire" even though only for a brief stay over pleasant enough. The outdoor market...what a joke, only a handful of stalls! Not worth a trip. No disrespect to those who work there but the place was empty!!! We spent more money on parking!!! Nice meat purchased at the indoor market and theres a well stocked cheese shop. The council need to update their website and let travellers know what to expect from the town centre. Can't think of any reason to return.

We stayed in a slightly smaller room than normal but the facilities are just the same. All the meals were perfect. The four of us each had a different main course, as we always do, and everyone one of them was beautifully prepared. Would seriously recommend the chicken dinner. Breakfast was served in the “pub” and was similarly substantial with extra teas and coffee brought to us on request. Some hotels we frequent are not so generous. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and the shower room was exceptional. There was no cooked food options on the premises but a well stocked breakfast basket was provided and recommendations for places to eat in the evening. We went to the recommended Galleon steak house and can fully endorse the recommendation.
