The owner Paul and his team were fantastic, lovely people. So welcoming and friendly and obviously knowledgeable about the Island. Nothing was too much trouble and we were so glad we have experienced the St Magnus Bay Hotel and if the opportunity arises one day with our busy working lives we would love to go back.
We had first class cooked breakfasts, and delicious home cooked food for evening meal, absolutely perfect after a long day of sight seeing and exploring the breath taking views the Islands have to offer. Thankyou paul, you are a gentleman sir

A nice clean hotel situated on the waterside.
A nice clean hotel situated on the waterside. Very good staff who operated well under covid restrictions. The food was good and we enjoyed all our meals. Not gourmet food but good. Excellent selection of whiskies to try and a well balanced wine list.

I liked the location of the hotel and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.
The hotel had just had new boilers fitted so it was very warm and stifling in the bedroom.
The dining room could benefit from more lighting as it was quite dark

The hotel its self does need a little TLC but that didn't take away the good time we had there. As I've said before I would gladly recommend it although now I have thought about it there is no lift to the rooms which are upstairs, I think that would be the only down side for any one who had mobility problems. The hotel is well used by the locals which says a lot when the locals eat out there too.
The service and staff, especially Bradley (!) was exceptional. it was a beautiful, historical property, conveniently located to do day trips around the whole of Shetland. The food was great: the breakfast selection was very good: varied, fresh, and generous portions. The bar menu was top notch.
Very friendly and accommodating staff.
The hotel offers what you would expect from a 16th century building with lots of history, whisky and a warm and cosy atmosphere.
Great breakfast and dinner menu to suit all tastes.

The hotel was perfectly situated for us to explore Shetland. The staff were welcoming, the food was excellent and there was a choice of over 230 whiskies! We had a wonderful stay and can thoroughly recommend Busta House hotel as a place to stay.
The setting was beautiful. A lovely country house hotel. Rooms have been refurbished with excellent bathrooms and furnishings. Extremely comfortable beds. Lovely restaurant with wonderful local dishes. Very friendly and helpful staff.
