The staff were all fantastic, couldn't do enough to make me feel at home. Rooms were clean and comfortable, great pillows. Really cosy small bar area or a spacious restaurant area to choose from. The bar had a real fire on a stormy night when I was there so it was idyllic. The area is beautiful and most decent hotels are set on country roads somewhere but this was easy enough to find. Food was a little expensive tbh but you get what you pay for and the quality was excellent, with exceptional service.
A period property in a quiet residential street, with free Wi-Fi and free parking, Derrin Guest House is less than 5 minutes’ drive away from the P&O Ferry Terminal at Larne Harbour.

Derrin was welcoming, warm, beautifully presented, light and quiet.
Ivy was the star attending to every need and so thoughtful. Even though I had to go early for a ferry she left out a variety of things for breakfast. Ivy was reassuring when telling me about the ferry trip. All very much appreciated. Obviously a well loved and cared for guest house.

The location is beautiful, its few steps away from the Larne port, so walking by the port side is blissful.
The rooms are clean tidy and well maintained.
The washroom is supremely clean.

The breakfast is also good, served warm..
Staying at the Bayview Apartments was great. It had all the necessary facilities needed. You will however need to drive to any local restaurants but there is a Spar shop at the local petrol station.
The scenery is fantastic with a local park nearby for walks/children’s play area.
We had a delicious dinner at the Ballygally Castle Hotel which can be a little expensive but the grounds are wonderful together with its history.
We saw dolphins swimming along the bay which was absolutely thrilling. Lovely place.
