The bedroom and bathroom were very big and comfortable and breakfast was lovely.
I loved the setting of the pub/hotel. It's a quiet village, set in beautiful Dorset countryside. You would need your own transport to the village I imagine (not sure if it's on a bus route and if so, how frequent) and it's probably a bit too remote to rely on taxis (could be expensive). It's a great area for walking.

The room was a very generous size and well decorated. The house has great character and you’re made to feel at home.
The guest room bathrooms are connected by a wall that you can clearly hear your neighbouring guests through, there’s not much that could fix that and didn’t cause too much of a problem for us.
Claire made a great host, she was full of information and stories, something that I love about visiting a new area and home.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, couldn’t have done any more. We had an evening meal, which was excellent and went to our room. Everywhere was so clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and we would definitely return for another stay at the Fox.

Didn't really see much of Ansty, we just had food in 2 of the pubs - The Fox, which was a bit pricey, so we only went there once. The other pub is The Royal Oak, which we went to quite a lot, really nice staff, very good food & reasonably priced. We would recommend this pub to all that vist Pleck Barn, but it is not within walking distance.

Ansty is a little village set in the beautiful Dorset countryside dotted with thatched cottages. It has a lovely little pub called The Fox which we frequented several times as you could sit outside with the weather being so lovely. We ate once, the meal was nice & the staff were all very friendly.
The lanes in places are very narrow but every driver we met were all very polite & gave way as we did, cars & tractors, just don't drive too quickly.
Keep your eyes peeled for a beautiful thatched cottage with a fox made of straw on the roof, it's absolutely stunning.

Excellent short stay, clean & great staff.
Excellent short stay, clean & great staff.
Rooms in the roof are very warm, but fans available. Good value for money.
Food good, breakfast a little light, no option for bran flakes etc, just granola or cooked breakfast, but my breakfast is most important meal of the day for me! My husband really enjoyed his cooked breakfast.
Note: booking states "room only" which implies breakfast not included, suggest changing wording.
The reception staff together with the bar and restaurant staff were great and welcomed us with warm smiles. The restaurant and food are excellent with a great variety of dishes to choose from and the wine was superb,
The Breakfast menu had a great selection to choose from. The atmosphere in the property was relaxing from the moment you stepped into reception. Well done the Fox it was a great stay ..... finally parking was easy with many parking areas.
We felt this a was a very homely simple bed and breakfast accommodation. The landlady was very welcoming and breakfast was served in her kitchen shared with her other guests. The room was clean and comfortable and fine for a two night stay. Good location for us in the Dorset countryside very close to where we needed to be during the day.
We just used the Fox Inn as a transit hotel for a single night, but started to genuinely regret this when we arrived. The place is beautiful and incredibly charming and the staff stayed up longer to allow us to check in late. Absolutely brilliant management and beautiful place in the middle of nowhere.
A lovely hotel. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The bar and restaurant were great - very friendly staff, and lots of choice. Great location and very good value for money. We'd definitely recommend.
The Fox Inn is a very nice hotel and the staff are very polite and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. Overall a nice place to spend a couple of days.
