This beautiful castle set in the heart of a 25-acre park blends the pleasures of a Renaissance château with the comfort of a boutique hotel and was once a hideaway for Henry IV.

Beautiful château with spectacular rooms and yet very dog friendly. Fabulous grounds.
Very attentive host, delicious food.
We did not get to enjoy all the amenities as we arrived late on our way to Spain and left early. I regret it.

Breakfast was reasonable and room, though small, was adequate. Staff were very pleasant and helpful especially the young lad who was on while we were there. Our evening meal was very good which we enjoyed.
St-Leonard-des-Bois is a pretty rural village. It has a beautiful clean river and a park with facilities to fully enjoy this resource - swimming, canoeing etc. There are also walking tracks that lead up into a ridge that is behind the town affording views of the surrounding area.
There is a baker who opens in the morning and a few cafes close by. There are a couple of restaurants with a greater menu - one overlooking the park which is a lovely spot to gaze while enjoying a morning beverage. Get there promptly though if hoping for a lunch as it is a favourite of locals too.
Local camp site beside the river also seems a popular spot. I would definitely visit again.

A very enjoyable short stay.
A very enjoyable short stay. We were made welcome on arrival by the excellent staff. The hotel is comfortable and the breakfast and evening meal we received were just what was needed. We will be almost definitely returning for a longer stay in what is a very beautiful part of the world.

This place totally exceeded our expectations they were pretty high anyway after looking at the website and photos. This truely is the most beautiful French hideaway. We pulled up outside the hotel amongst the locals dining alfresco and we were met with the most warmest greetings. Everything about this place was just stunning food, staff, location I could talk about it all day.
