Everything was perfect. Julie & Sean were amazing hosts. The house has been renovated to a wonderful standard with lots of love and care. The location is in a tranquil spot by the river and a great place to walk, stroll or even take a run. The room was super comfortable and clean. The breakfast was cooked by Julie and was generous, fresh and delicious. Both Julie and Sean made us feel more than welcome. The village is about a 5 min drive away and so very convenient.

Our beautiful, comfortable room overlooking the vineyard and Le Cirq Lapopie beyond. We loved the spa facilities and used them every afternoon during our stay. I highly recommend paying for the entire stay access pass to the spa, excellent value 👌. Walking distance to the supermarket, restaurants and bakery. For the village of St Cirq Lapopie itself, it is better to park in P3 and walk, taking in the stunning scenery...or use P6 for a shorter walk 🚶♀️.
The Hotel Les Falaises is the ideal starting point to visit the Lot area.

This charming apartment boasts a prime location, overlooking the Lot valley, offering both convenience and comfort. Its private entrance and staircase leading directly to the first floor ensure ease of access. All rooms and the terrace are conveniently situated on the same level and are decorated with a lot of love to detail. The well-equipped kitchen caters to all needs, it's a pleasure to prepare a meal to enjoy on the terrace.
Its proximity to major attractions, such as Saint-Cirq, makes exploring the area effortless. There's a small supermarket and a bakery right in the village.
Furthermore, the hosts exemplify hospitality, providing assistance and ensuring a pleasant experience for guests throughout their stay. It has been a pleasure staying with them and I wish them all the best for their next endeavours. Thank you for having me!

The room was in a barn, which has been converted to a very high standard. The layout of the room was pleasing, the lighting good. The bed was large, and comfortable enough (though a foam mattress). The bathroom was good, well-lit and spacious. Breakfast was good, including nice fruits and warm home-made cake. The owner kindly escorted us the last 2 km to find the house, which is fairly remote and very quiet in peaceful landscape.

This village definitely has earned its « Plus Beau Village de France » designation. It’s like stepping into a medieval movie set. Try to go a bit off season so that it’s not too crowded. Lots of uphill walking is required but you are rewarded at every corner with wonderful views and many great restaurants with outdoor terraces to sit for a full meal or just a glass of wine or a « glace »

Indeed one of the most beautiful villages!
Indeed one of the most beautiful villages!
Not all the stores and restaurants were open as my visit was in October which is not peak season but that wasn't an issue. There were still plenty of good restaurants to visit.

Loved Saint-Cirq-Lapopie.
Loved Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Wonderfully preserved small old village in a beautiful position high above the Lot river. We really only had one day so spent the morning exploring the town and in afternoon we drove to Bouzies and walked the first kilometer of the towpath back to St-Cirq-Lapopie, and we had a tour of Perche-Merle caves. Could have stayed much longer and spent more time exploring the village and the walking paths nearby. Could have also walked the whole towpath and got a boat for the return trip. Pleas note that Perch Merle caves which are amazing and well worth the visit need to be booked well in advance in summer, either on website which I found difficult, or by ringing which was easy. Dont be put off if you can only get a French speaking tour. They give you a booklet with all the information in English. Finally after we left St-Cirq-Lapopie we went south to Najac which is another bastide town and evn better preserved than St-Cirq-. Lapopie. Well worth a visit

Maison Lapopie was as sweet and lovely as is the town. Fabian and Charlotte have done a magnificent job at their hotel. Everything is thought of, it is spotless, with lots of small touches that make one’s stay more comfortable. Their breakfasts were terrific, and their assistance with excursion ideas was top-notch. Even their dog was perfect! We could not have been happier.
Everything was perfect! Beautiful small hotel with a very charming decoration. Attention to detail. Fabien and Charlotte, the owners, were there to solve any request or answer any question. My wife and I had a satisfying experience and, no doubt, best breakfast ever.
