Beautiful, newly renovated, comfortable apartment. Everything is there, perfect. It's really great. We were 2 people, but we booked this 4 person apartment. The kitchen is well equipped We were only 2 nights and hardly used the kitchen. We ate in the cozy restaurants within walking distance. The bedroom is a bit on the small side, but enough for sleeping. The bed is fine, not too soft. The bathroom has 1 sink and a spacious shower, with a shower curtain. The living room is fine, with sofa bed for 2 more people. The wifi is excellent. The parking is on site and lockable at night. There is a private terrace with table + 4 chairs and a parasol. We had apartment number 4.
The apartment is centrally located. You can rent bicycles within walking distance. The island is very suitable for cycling, the cycle paths are safe and located on the entire island.
We didn't see the host. When we arrived the key was in the door of our apartment. We called to ask if we could get in and that was okay. When we left the apartment we left the key on the table. The cleaning is included but it is the intention that you leave it clean. That is not a problem, because all cleaning supplies are present. They do speak English.
Boasting a garden, private pool and garden views, Les Mouettes is situated in La Cotinière. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi.

Stay overnight in order to explore Island on our first visit - located centrally. Great for seaside shops and choice of restaurants for evening, which suited our needs. Touring around enabled us to appreciate the smaller villages, and stunning coastline.

The busy fishing port and fresh fish markets were of great interest, and there was plenty of choice at restaurants -particularly if you wanted to eat fresh fish!
The island is really well set-up for cycling-cycle lanes abound and the island of Oleron is flat.
The oyster gathering industry is another distinctive feature of the Island.

La Cotiniere is both a small working port and a holiday venue. It has shops offering clothes, gifts and souvenirs, most quite tasteful. There are a few bike rental companies too - we hired bikes for a day and had great fun exploring. It has plenty of restaurants: we dined at two, on a list of recommended restaurants provided by our hotel. The better of the two, La Sardinerie was outstanding, and not surprisingly very popular - booking essential.

The hotel is ideally placed for walking in to the port of La Cotiniere, where there are lots of restaurants, bars and shopping. The hotel is very dog friendly and the beach directly next to the hotel is perfect for dog walking!

Lovely harbour with working trawlers, lots of bars and restaurants to choose from, sandy beach and well located in the centre of the island. At first we thought it was just a lot of bucket and spade shops but there’s a good fish market area and basically unspoilt. We are twice at le chaloupe, good seafood overlooking the harbor

La Cotiniere is a busy fishing port but with plenty to see.
La Cotiniere is a busy fishing port but with plenty to see. We would envisage that, at the height of the summer, parking could be a problem but if you have access to bikes, or can walk, then this would be a preferred way to visit the town. We particularly liked the restaurant Le Caps, which we visited a few times due to the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. Highly recommended. Another restaurant worthy of a visit is Le Mille Pates in St Pierre, just ten minutes by car from La Cotiniere. Again, excellent fresh food and first class staff. We would also encourage a visit to the Vignoble Vincent where you can taste, and purchase, a wide range of Pineau Cognac's and wine.
Apartment was self catering and was one of five sharing a quiet courtyard situated just off the main port of La Cotiniere on Ile D'Oleron. There were beaches nearby for swimming at high tide and good seafood restaurants. The hosts, Vanessa and Baptiste were excellent and very attentive. The apartment was modern and well provided with everything we needed. Car parking was available next to the apartment and the area was closed off by a gate at night for better security.
Very comfortable and spacious house. Fantastic kitchen - extremely well-equipped.
The house is decorated with the paintings of the owner’s grandfather - these are very interesting and we enjoyed trying to understand what could be the meaning of each painting…
The location is very peaceful despite being within walking distance of La Cotinière.
The owner was very friendly and replied very clearly and very quickly to all our questions.
Lovely location in dunes beside beach.
Room opened onto own private garden area with coastal planting.
Very comfortable room, staff friendly & helpful, free safe parking.
A short walk to la Cotiniére port with its great selection of restaurants to choose from, just 3kms from St Pierre a lovely island town.
Would recommend this hotel.
The hotel was perfectly located a few steps from the beach and within comfortable walking distance of the La Cotiniere. Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and welcoming. No request was too much trouble. The breakfast was more than adequate and the afternoon drinks from the bar was a bonus.
We had a spacious room, with a large confortable bed, high ceilings, exceptionally clean. We loved being at the ocean, gaving our own space outdoors to enjoy the view. Breakfast was great, hotel has a lovely pool. One of the best small hotels I’ve stayed at.
The hotel was very comfortable, met all of our needs and is a very good place to bring a pet. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is possible to walk to a town with many restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.
Absolutely great location within walking distance to the centre and restaurants.
Parking perfect just across the street. The owners very nice and welcoming. The hotel and room nice and clean… just perfect!!
Île de Lumière is a very nice boutique hotel located directly at the sea. Some rooms have sea view. The restaurants in La Cotinière can be reached by foot.
