The breakfast was great! It was hard to find a typically continental breakfast anywhere in France so it was a nice change. We had bread, cheese, cereals, and yoghurts with tea and hot chocolate, a nice filling breakfast after a long hike the day previous.

The host, Eric, was very helpful!
Check in was smooth, we had a parking space in the courtyard.
He also left strawberries for us in the fridge.
The place was big and had everything we needed.
We also found a small terrace and some activities, like ping pong, available on site.

The rooms are very nice, look freshly furnished and well maintained. All necessary room amenities were provided. We booked 3 rooms and the surprise is they are all different in layout and size. Parking at the back of the hotel allowed guests to walk to most of hotel rooms without stairways. I had room 18 that was in my opinion the nicest but required climbing some 16 steps to the room, which was very private (no room next to 18) and had windows/balcony facing the front and back of hotel. The receptionist Mr. Ferdinand who checked us in was very helpful. We arrived on a public holiday and most restaurants were closed but he helped find one for us in Riquewihr village that was close by. We did not book for breakfast but the ambience in the breakfast room looked beautiful. Mittlewihr is a convenient place to say to visit the various vineyards and quaint villages in this part of Alsace, France, also close to Colmar.

I loved the views and the solitude at the end of my busy days in Sainte Marie aux Mines (I was there for the Carrefour quilt show). The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I found the parking space extremely difficult to reverse into. It’s much easier if you drive in and reverse out. Guests, you need to know that you will need to hire household linens (bed linen, towels and tea towels) if you don’t have your own and that there is a fee for cleaning unless you agree to do it yourselves. This was not clear on the booking.com info when I stayed there last time (or maybe I didn’t read the facilities guide properly when I booked).
Would I go back again? You bet; like a shot. I’ve already booked for my next trip 😁😁

Nice little village near Route des vins and up in the (cooler) hills. Local small shop & boulangerie, start point for several walking trails. Handy for visiting wineries etc., but cooler & fresher up in the hills.
Very nice quiet hotel with adjacent restaurant. I thoroughly recommend staying there. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was sumptuous and good!
