This is a quiet little oasis in the middle of a fairly industrial looking area not far from the woods behind Compiegne. We had a delightful meal in the huge gardens (completely shielded from the surrounding area by cypresses) and sat outside all evening enjoying the peace and quiet, with only the donkeys and a grass-cutting robot for company.
IL ETAIT UNE FOIS is set in Pierrefonds, 100 metres from the grounds of Chateau de Pierrefonds. Every room has a flat-screen TV. Extras include free toiletries and a hairdryer.

The apartment, in which we stayed, was clean, comfortable and roomy. The natural setting of the accommodations was lovely and it was very quiet.

Amazing location in a small village tucked away between forests. Super quiet. Loved the seclusion of the balcony attached to the master bedroom. Mostly, I loved the attention to details and all the little perks, like enough towels and toilet paper, an incredibly well-equipped kitchen including coffee, board games etc. Excellent Wi-fi in the living room.
The hygiene in the whole apartment was excellent!
You can park your car literally in front of the door, which is an amazing bonus when travelling with a whole family by car.
I am only sad that we stayed for 1 night. I would love to revisit the location in the future and stay for several nights and explore the surrounding forest.
