This beautiful small hotel has been lovingly restored. Our room was very comfortable, extremely good bed and the bathroom was lovely. The breakfast was simple continental . We ate in the restaurant which was very good quality . The hotel is also very convenient to explore the pretty town.

The hosts were great. Nothing was too much trouble. They provided lots of local information about where to eat and what we could do in the area. The rooms were very large for France. The hotel had a friendly vibe and felt like the locals used it as their local as well as tourists. Nice breakfast - they asked us what we wanted and were happy to prepare eggs for us.

Lovely hotel run by a delightful couple, Michelle and Ann-e. They could not do enough for us and made our stay very special. The hotel has a echo of the Far East as the owners have constructed a Chinese garden which is wonderful to wander around.

We really liked this small pretty town with excellent views over the surrounding countryside. The safe narrow streets with artisan shops and the information boards on the town history were good. We ate at Planches and Plonc delicious and very friendly owners. We also enjoyed the vide grenier. We enjoyed the peacefulness being early season. Lots to do in the surrounding area if you like history ,architecture, food etc. Lots of hills if you are walking.

Lovely typical French medieval village, quite small and very quiet when we were there, (end of May beginning June) Saturday market brought the village to life! Several nice restaurants.
Ideal place to wander around the streets and the local countryside.

It was very quiet and not many places open, probably due to Covid but the place itself is absolutely stunning! Do try to learn a little French before you go! My school French (40 years ago!) came in very handy!! The Troglodite caves are good but could do with an English translation too, maybe just a headset would work? Food in all the restaurants was outstanding.

Belves is a great place for exploring the small villages of the Dordogne. Electric bikes make the river, lake, and lovely villages easy to reach. The pace of life is very slow. You need a car for Sarlat and Chateau de Milandes, where Josephine Baker lived.
The shepherds hut is very comfortable, a comfy bed, a good shower and great cooking facilities. The hot tub is really great, with a beautiful view. The gas BBQ was great.
The location of the shepherds hut is approx 10 minutes walk to the restaurants in Belves and also a supermarket.
The hosts, Lydia and Bruno, are very friendly and accommodating. They are currently building the swimming pool and another chalet on the site therefore the landscape is a bit unfinished however once it is all complete it will be amazing.
Delightful location in the centre of Belves with our room having a shaded balcony where you could sit overlooking this beautiful village. We went out for the evening and on our return the hotel provided us with glasses of vin rose free of charge which we drank on our balcony in the cool of the evening. We don't take breakfast but we had two very good cups of coffee on the hotel terrace in the morning.
Arlette picked us up from the train station which was great. It was a very short drive to get to Le Tambourinet. The property is beautiful with gardens all inside and outside the property. Arlette and Christian gave us a very pleasant stay. The house is less than 5 minutes walking to the central area of Belves.
Great location in the very centre of Belves. Small but lively village.
Also, the owners were really nice and helpful with tips about food and sightseeing in the nearby - don’t hesitate to try their complete cheese plates and wines.
Bedroom was cozy, and large and decorated with great taste.
sufficiently secluded, but not too far from Belves
and Monpazier….other towns and villages all within east reach.
David and Tracey were the perfect hosts, and Charlie the dog just adorable.
will definitely be booking this again. The Dordogne is so beautiful.
We had a very friendly welcome and enjoyed an evening meal and lovely breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and my soya milk was provided for breakfast. The hotel is in a great location and has a lovely vibe to it. It was a perfect stay.
Location is great, very close to the town center and supermarket. Beautiful house with private terrace & garden. Large rooms with lots of space. The town of Belvès itself is stunning. Hosts were very friendly and spoke perfect english.
Beautiful setting within walking distance of Belves. Charming hosts and beautiful location. Continental breakfast was just right for us and the shower was very good. Bed extremely comfortable. Large room/suite.
A lovely hotel with lovely hosts. I would recommend to anyone that would like to stay in a tranquil village with good food, drink and people.
Very impressive.
Very comfortable accommodation a short walk from the center of lovely Belves. Very close to a handy small supermarket. Communication with host was great.
