The hotel was cozy, quiet, and Bavarian-style (which some may like and some may not). We had a small terrace in our room which made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was great. There was not much choice for breakfast, but enough to fill the belly.

Good location, in walking distance from train station and nice restaurants/cafes. The owners are very nice and courteous but no English speaking as far as I could gauge; good breakfast as I am sure others have mentioned.

I visited Kochel with the sole purpose of going to the Kristall Therme. It was totally worth it! The therme overlooks the lake and the surrounding mountains, the staff are extremely kind and helpful, and it is possible to drive or walk from any of the main hotels.
Kochel is best for outdoor adventure - cycling, hiking, skiing, etc. I walked around a bit and visited the Franz Marc Museum (pretty nice, actually), but I didn't do much else. Beware of bad weather and disrupted train schedules. I was stuck for part of the day because the trains couldn't run (debris from the storm on the train tracks) and the replacement bus couldn't get through (roads were closed also due to debris), so I had to take a very circuitous route back to Munich. It was possible though! And the mountains during snowfall was beautiful!
A beautiful quaint hotel, with a very comfortable and clean room. Our balcony looked out to a neighboring meadow and hills. They added a special touch with a chocolate on your pillow and a bottle of sparkling water when we arrived. The breakfast was excellent with a big variety and various special items, plus the breakfast room was super cozy and really nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly during breakfast and at the reception. Gave us great info on hikes in the area and provided a map to take. We’d definitely stay there again.
The hotel is traditional yet modern. Nice and clean. The breakfast is excellent, and the staff, specifically the owner - is absolutely lovely! Made me feel real welcome, and almost like at home. Will definitely stay in this hotel when I’m again in Kochel, and recommend it over other hotels in this town (have stayed in a couple others).
Thank you for a lovely stay!
Such a beautiful hotel and a magical location. It felt like we were visiting family we were so well taken care of. We had to check out early before breakfast and she packed us up some stuff to go with coffee and hot chocolate and it was so delicious!! We are so grateful and will make every effort to return again for another longer stay.
Good breakfast till 11 am. The hotel is right in front of a relatively frequent road, but we had a room facing the mountains, so it was very quiet and a great view as a bonus. There is a big terrace as well. Free coffee / tea / mineral water was a nice touch. Check-out till 12 am is also nice.
The breakfast in this hotel is the best free breakfast I have had in many many stays in Germany. I also liked that the hotel had an elevator (lift) so the luggage didn't need to be carted up by hand. The room was quiet, the view with the snow in the mountains very nice!
Very grateful for the wonderful Patrizia who helped with our group booking and was very patient and friendly. This hotel is a little Bavarian gem - perfect blend of old school charm and modern amenities. And the breakfast was outstanding. Would highly recommend!
Nice and clean hotel. They have their own parking lot with EV charging. The staff were very nice and polite. The hotel is very close to Kristall Therme. The room is well equipped with kitchenette and very spacious. The breakfast was okay.
Hotel, room and breakfast are typical of the German Alps, what you expect and appreciate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was good for dining, use of therme, hiking, etc.
The breakfast offers a variety, and it is quite nice. The hotel also provides dinner, which is delicious at a reasonable price.
The decoration in the hotel is very vintage-style and charming.
very nice located hotel, directly at the lake with nice a wellness area and direct lake access, panorama breakfast salon and restaurant with direct view to the lake, very nice staff
A very nice Hotel with spacious rooms and an excellent breakfast. Secure parking for bicycles and friendly and helpful staff. The recommendation for the restaurant was very good.
