Breakfast was simple but more than adequate excellent coffee, undercover tables and open air. In the evening restaurant served excellent meals with people arriving by taxi to eat there.
Location of hotel ideally situated for both town and beach, just remember this is a traditional hotel not a vast resort hotel.

A lovely little town of exceptionally friendly folk.
A lovely little town of exceptionally friendly folk. The vibe was relaxed, we all felt safe, even travelling with young kids, and it was nice to get away from our city life. People really welcomed us and we could see that it was a genuine interest towards us which made all the difference. The beach is outstanding, very clean, unspoiled and peaceful and goes on for miles. The food was beautifully seasoned everywhere we went and everyone gave us a smile. Beautiful place.

Sal Rei, although the capital of Boa Vista is small and the people are friendly. It is easily posible to walk around Sal Rei in an hour. Several beach bars in the area where you can just chill. Everything is very relaxed.

Perfect place to relax if you like a beach destination.
Perfect place to relax if you like a beach destination. In the island there are plenty of really nice white sand beaches completely empty. Very calm place. I would not recommend it though if you are looking for a party place, they have a few bars but not many people around. Locals are lovely and food is great. Good for a relaxing holidays but I would not stay more than a week as there is not much to do around.

Sal Rei is small and the locals are very nice and sympathetic. The local language is Portuguese but you always gonna found someone that speaks English. In the center you can found cellphone chip, gas station, supermarket, bakery, simple but good!
For those who wants to Kitesurf, Morabeza beach is the point, the wind is offshore and gusty, but most of the kite schools they have a little boat that can help you to come back to the beach, rescue your board, etc.

Sal Rei is a small, developing town that is really hoping to expand and attract more visitors. The locals were friendly and we felt safe walking everywhere, even at night. There is construction going on everywhere from the town square to housing on the outskirts. It was about a 30 minute walk from one side of town to the other, and taxis were readily available. Roads are cobblestone and/or dirt, so sturdy shoes are a good idea. Cash is recommended, as there are still many restaurants and shops that do no accept cards. It's a good idea to bring Euros with you, as the ATMs do not always have money (Escudos) available. The beaches are beautiful and not crowded, but can be quite windy. The serra at Té Manché was excellent, as was the pizza at Ristorante Pizzeria O Gato & A Raposa.

-It's a small town where you will soon feel like you know half of the people. You can get anywhere on foot, however there are always taxis aroud, if you get tired.
-If you're a solo traveller, I highly recommend you to go Wind Club where there are cool people hanging out at all times.
-The best food I've had on the island is in the restaurant Sodade: delicious food, very friendly service (which is not the standard on the island) and beautiful interior.
-We also did a half-day tour, starting at the Museo dos Naufragos (Shipwreck Museum) which I would highly recommend if you want to find out about the island's history, continuing then to the shipwreck, Viana desert and the small town Rabil.
Best location to stay at in Boavista, owners are extremely accessible and kind, building is so pretty and apartment is so well decorated and everything with so much taste! The ‘balcony’ outside has a table and chairs perfect for a nice home made meal and the bed and sheets are truly ‘hotel comfortable’! Owners are super flexible with check-in hours (I arrived with a boat at 4am) and there is a security man around the building at all times for extra safety!
The hotel is well laid out and clean with a fabulous pool, well maintained gardens, excellent staff and good amenities. All the food was prepared to a high standard and in good quantities. A variation each night with the main staples on standby if required. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff or the entertainment team, especially the bar staff at the reception bar. The towels and bedding very clean and the rooms adequate and clean.
The location is fabulous. Stunning ocean views. A few local eateries which are all great and well priced. An easy walk (10-15 mins) into Sal Rei for the markets, souvenirs and more restaurants. 3 Euro by taxi.
The on site pool bar “Elcibar” is phenomenal. What Els creates out of that small single handed run kitchen is divine. The onsite manager, Matt has a lot of local knowledge and is very helpful answering all questions as is his assistant x
We had a fantastic stay at Maury's place.
The house is colorful, rooms are spacious, clean with a good bed + hot shower.
Breakfast was super good and homemade (you have to try the carrot cake and yoghurt ).
But most importantly, Maury is the best host you can hope for! Helpful, always with a smile, a word or a tip on where to go, what to do in Sal Rei.
We will definitely go back !
The location, accessibility, and size of the apartment were great, just like the responsiveness of the hosts. If things didn't work they took care of it immediately and organized an amazing quad tour for me as well. I felt very well taken care of and enjoyed my time in Boa Vista. I can recommend this apartment without any doubts if some things will be improved (s. section about the cons).
My experience in the hotel was amazing, mainly due to the exceptional staff! José and his crew made all their efforts to make me feel welcome and comfortable right from the first moment! Here also an additional huge thank you to Gilson, Etrom, Imabella and Iligna for the daily conversations! I love it! On top, the hotel was always super clean and very central.
Very spacious and clean flat with a well-maintained swimming pool and bar. Property is opposite the beach with 2 very good beach bars / restaurants, with tasty meals at affordable prices. Very good Internet connection at the flat and near swimming pool. Marvellous views at sea and mountains from the balcony (flat K 22).Manager is very friendly and helpful.
The most responsive hosts ever, and an awesome, lovable crew! We had some issues with the facilities that were immediately taken care of.
Away from the city and the noise, but still perfectly walkable to almost everywhere. Small shop and a couple of nice bars near by. The beach is just across the street.
You can hear the ocean from your apartment! 🤯
The building was clean, quiet, and convenient to the beach, town, restaurants and surf shops. The apartment was spacious and clean. The balcony was a great place to sit when we were ready for a break from the beach. The kitchen was equipped for cooking and was even stocked with some basics when we arrived!
The price was unbeatable, for the size of the room/location/cleanliness. The owners speak French, likely Creole and Portuguese. If you speak German it‘s s bit of a language barrier! But very, very nice couple. Sal Rei is very small, and everything is very accessible
After staying at a very busy Rui hotel complex I wanted to get away to a more quite personal stay and this place was perfect 👍🏼
the staff were very friendly and very helpful, the accommodation was lovely, spacious and very clean!
I definitely recommend!
Quiet and calm place near the long and wide sandy beach. Good hospitality. The only thing to consider is transportation - nearest shops and cafes are not really reachable without a car or taxi. Sal Rei is 10 minutes by the car. Airport -5 minutes.
Amazing guests, really there to help you with all the little things!
Boa Vista is according to European standards not very developed but still the guests manage to bring you an amazing breakfast and quite comfortable rooms.
thank you very much!
Clean and very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in a good location and the rooms are large, spacious and comfortable. It has a lovely and serene atmosphere. Enjoyed my stay but for the flies which were thankfully not in the room.
Proximity to beach and beach cafés. Also to town facilities and shops. We took a quad bike experience which was really unusual over several different terrains. And of course the self catering accommodation
