The rooms was extremely spacious and comfortable.
I am unsure if there were coffee pods for the coffee machine , this may be something to improve on.

A good little place to stopover before a flight from San Jose. Nice leafy grounds (we saw an armadillo) and pretty old buildings. Comfortable room with a good bed and bedding. Nice hotel restaurant with friendly staff.

My stay was amazing!
From the airport shuttle, to the property with a fantastic view over the city, nice rooms/interieur, great breakfast menu to choose from to the super friendly and helpful staff.
Cute little town near the airport. Probably not a destination, but, if you have a night to kill before flying out, it's fine. Otherwise, there isn't anything I know of to draw visitors. Couple cute restaurants on the main street. Felt safe walking around after dark.

We did more in San Antonio than we expected to do. The church in the center of town was welcoming, and there are a lot of restaurants with good food and service. The bussing to other areas (San Jose and Heredia) is well marked and has an appropriate schedule. Plus, the area felt safe to walk after sunset. Because of its convivence, we extended our hotel stay to stay in the area, and only bussed to San Jose for the day.

For us La Rivera is a take off and arrival point, so the easy airport access is important. It is an easy walk to a phone store or Pali supermarket for some basics, and the local pista, church and park give you a safe introduction to Costa Rica. There is not much else to do in the immediate area.
The staff were absolutely amazing. We had had an extremely stressful morning and just needed the hotel to crash before our 1 am flight. We finally got to the hotel, began to check in, when the staff informed us we had a mixup with the reservation. The front desk staff waved the extra fee that would normally be associated with our reservation and booked us a shuttle to the rental car place to drop off our car, AND an extremely late night drop off at the airport. Absolutely perfect place to be for a layover! So kind and generous!
This hotel was a gem! The photos did not do it justice. We booked it for our last night in Costa Rica and enjoyed it greatly. The surroundings and decor were tasteful. My husband also enjoyed a dip in the pool.
A big thank you to the staff members as they were exceptionally nice and helpful - I don't like coriander and the staff members did everything to make sure I would have no coriander in my food. If we go back to Costa Rica we will book a longer stay in this hotel as they also organise wildlife trips.
The hotel is very convenient for San José. On arrival at the airport the routine is to send a WhatsApp message (they will already have made contact on WhatsApp) and they will send the hotel minibus out within a few minutes. It’s about a 15 minute drive so there will be a short wait. But this operates at any time of day or night.
There also a very good pizza restaurant attached to the hotel.
The hotel is clean and comfortable and set in lush gardens.
The lady checking us in was very friendly and helpful. She was also very kind to let us check into our room early. She also made sure to show us the room and made sure that everything was clean and working well inside. The room was also a great size and it included a full kitchen with appliances. That was a nice bonus. There is also an excellent local restaurant right across the street from the hotel, which was very convenient.
The hotel grounds are beautiful, well maintained, and very lush. The views are nice since the hotel is on a hill. I was impressed by their greenhouse, and the pool area was very quiet. We spent one night here before our flight home after 8 days in Jaco. We walked to eat about 1 mile away in the Belen neighborhood and it is a very lovely area. Their staff were all super friendly and helpful. Airport shuttle was perfect!
Had to leave at 03.00 so no breakfast, but porter made us a coffee whilst we waited for taxi. The hotel had an old-world feel - was spacious and the room was comfortable and clean. There was a decent-sized pool which we didn't have time to use. We had dinner almost immediately after arrival which was tasty and plentiful. The staff were friendly and obliging.
Location to airport and neighborhood was great. Rooms have everything you would need for a short stay. Fantastic restaurant at the hotel! Staff was very helpful and scheduled covid testing in room (for a reasonable price), and a shuttle very early for us. The reception even had fruit in the shuttle waiting for us in the morning since we missed breakfast.
Sitting areas around the hotel were very peaceful and comfortable. Great for reading and relaxing. The restaurant was fantastic. The communication with the hotel before and during our stay was excellent. They do their very best for you. We had to leave early in the morning, so they had fruit and coffee ready for us. The beds were very comfortable.
Felt very safe and looked after. As a 53 year old solo traveller this meant a lot to me. Staff were lovely Maura collected me from airport at home midnight and 15 mins we were at the hotel. Esteban on reception was very nice as were staff in the restaurant which had excellent food. Pool area was lovely as was the whole hotel.
We liked the on-site restaurant which is in a separate building in a large open air space. The staff communicated with us everyday to ask about our dining preferences for the next meal. For us, the hotel was just a convenient overnighter near the airport, but we could have stayed here comfortably for much longer.
Rachel the receptionist was just wonderful and the rooms were large and very well cleaned. In terms of proximity to the airport the hotel works - a short taxi ride. The hotel has a lovely pool and everything it needs to be a really great choice - yet I wouldn't choose it a second time.
Excellent restaurant as part of hotel. Feels very Costa Rican. Nice garden, located in a neighborhood, could hear rooster crowing, see volcano. Clean. Bed comfy. Shuttle service excellent. Easy and close to airport. Perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. Good value for the money.
The hotel is close to the airport. It has unlimited water and coffee at the reception. The staff is kind and helpful. I would suggestion learning some Spanish words here. The private room is quite big and has everything you may need as well as ventilation.
1. The restaurant was very good, and there was also an excellent bakery immediately adjacent to the restaurant.
2. An adorable, friendly cat named "Sol" was at the reception area.
3. The hotel is very close to the airport.
The hotel was conveniently located a short distance from the Alamo car hire location, which was great after a long flight. The area felt safe, and breakfast/dinner in the restaurant was good.
I arrived in the late afternoon and took dinner at the hotel. What I enjoyed most was Rachel practicing English with me while I practiced Spanish. Very courteous and pleasant young lady.
Loved it - could’ve stayed longer :-) Such a great hotel with lovely staff, incredibly spacious rooms and perfect location for an overnight stay ahead of an AM flight!
