We picked this hotel for their sustainable credentials and we could see once there that they tried their best to follow a much more sustainable approach. The location is just unique and the views are stunning. We gad tent 14 and it was everything and more we could ask for. The room was really comfortable and the monkeys, lizards and racoons kept us entertained! I highly recommend the spa. The massage was great with views to go with it.

While the hotel and staff were lovely and helpful the common verandah didn't allow for much privacy. The hotel was also at least 5kms from the rest of the town with no shops or restaurants nearby, so a little isolated. But the beach just across the road was a bonus.

Plenty of restaurants, activities to explore, etc. For me, It totally depends on your hotel. I’ve stayed in Puntarenas many times, but my trip this week to Hotel Puntarenas Beach was, sadly, my worst hotel experience in Puntarenas.

Puntarenas is only worth the visit if you're gonna take the ferry boat to the islands next to it. The beaches are not great, full of trash, plastic , i guess because of the location and the currents? Not a lot to see or do. Not impressed.

Friendly town with lots of friendly people.
Friendly town with lots of friendly people. Great spot to visit the smaller islands and their virgin beaches. Please visit the light house area and Isla Cocos restaurant. The fresh seafood is excellent and the staff wonderful.
This was the best hotel we had in Costa Rica. The two ladies are so nice and friendly. They even made us a little tapas plate to make us feel extra welcome. The hotel is even MUCH better thank you expect from the pictures; the rooms are really big and very clean and good looking, a little Ibiza vibes. We booked this hotel for one night but we are going back in two days because we had just such a wonderfull time over here. Nearby the ferry to Paquera, just a 5 minute drive. EXCELLENT!!!!!
The property has all the essentials of a hotel without the price of a hotel. The place is within walking distance from the beach. We booked a tour within the property to go to Isla Tortuga, which was very good value for the price. The staff from Puntarenas Bed & Coffee are very customer oriented, helpful and friendly!

The suite was fully equipped with everything we needed
The hosts were amazing, great food recommendations
The pool and surroundings
3 min walk to the best sunsets on an uncrowded beach
Everything was amazing, best experience we could get on the area for our budget
Everything here was first rate. Totally unexpected. In our dozens of trips to Costa Rica, we never had any desire to stay in the Puntarenas area. Due to the logistics on this trip, we found ourselves in the area. What a find! Hotel Cayuga was an oasis.
The hotel is ideally located, across the beach and ocean. Moderately priced, the rooms are very spacious, comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The pool is great for a swim or to cool down in. Recommended!
Easy bed for the night in Puntarenas - still smelled like wet paint in early 2023. Shared bathrooms, good AC. La Perla del Pacifico at the end of the street is an awesome place to spend time.
I have loved everything about this beautiful place. The host is an immensely generous person with his time and kindness. If I visit Puntarenas again, I would gladly repeat the experience.
The location was perfect for the waterfalls, the hotel stored our luggage when we were out for the checkout day, they provided tea & coffee making facs and cold towels on arrival.
Close to the ferry. The kitchen staff were very nice. ok for one night to take the ferry. we found a great restaurant 500 meters from the hotel. “el Joron” expensive but good
Location was perfect for the area, bar and restaurant were near by. We also took the ferry the following day as it was right next door. Hotel offer Hot shower, aircon, pool.
