A very jolly town, clearly doing quite well. All the locals we spoke to were friendly and helpful, particularly the tourist Info in centre of town. Went mid October and weather can be a factor. Wanted to get a tour of volcano and park rangers closed the road due to deep snow. Rest of town was nice to walk and stroll around. People were very friendly and helpful.

Very beautiful city and surroundings.
Very beautiful city and surroundings. There are a lot of places and natural wonders to visit, any tourist would be impressed. Puerto Varas has a rich history which would amaze any curious mind. I arrived by bus since there are no flights between intermediate cities in Chile and it was very disappointing to find out that there is no proper bus terminal. My bus arrived at 5 am and we had to sit in the floor until a taxi appeared and he took us to the only 24h store in the city, which would only sell through a small window. We had to sit down again on the floor until the sun came out.

Most beautiful city of Chile so far! Convenient transport from the Airport, very beautiful lake view of the volcano, felt safe. Much better place to stay than Puerto Montt, if you are deciding between those two.

This is a gorgeous city, surrounded by so many things to do.
This is a gorgeous city, surrounded by so many things to do. You can go ski to the Osorno Volcano and spend a full day there. Saltos del Petrohue are so beautiful that you can stay half day there. And going south to Chiloé is something you need to do.

The staff were friendly and tried hard. Breakfasts and the one evening meal we had were pretty good. The hot tubs are nice. We had a nice room/ suite though the decor was tired and we were disturbed by adjacent music and noise from staff and other guests. I have never given a bad review for a booking.com hotel, but this one is pretty difficult. I have spent 3 weeks in Chile, my comments are benchmarked by other hotels.

Close to so many day trips, it was a perfect place to stay for the week. Owners were very friendly and helpful and proud of their property - their house is near by. So many thoughtful touches of where to store luggage, cubby holes. An amazing shower with a frosted glass wall is filled with light. Really a special place to be. We had a one bedroom cabin - there are 2 one bedroom and 2 two bedroom cabins. Very quiet and peaceful.

Being 3 people, we had an apartment with a wood-fuelled stove to ourselves. While the jacuzzi was out of order and we were only staying for 1 night, we could easily see how it could be enjoyable with its incredible view of Puerto Varas.
