I only stayed a day and a night which was perfect.
I only stayed a day and a night which was perfect. It was nice to experience staying somewhere a bit different from the big cities and resorts. It was very quiet and there wasn't a lot to do in Tiefencastel, I did a couple of small local walks. There was only the restaurant in the hotel, and I saw one other cafe (not open) in the town, and a shop by the rail station. It is a good base to access several famous train journeys including the Bernina Express and Glacier Express.

The room was very spacious, clean, and modern, including bathroom, and furnished / arranged in some very stylish way, truly delightful. Very close to Tiefencastel railroad station (5-10 minutes on foot, depending on your pace), where you can take Bernina Express or another train to enjoy the Albula railroad line (and beyond). The property has its own restaurant, and as a guest, you're offered to book a table there. The food and wine in the restaurant were very tasty.AlexeyGermany

We are aware that we are commenting on people's businesses and livelihoods, and feel our reviews should help those looking for places to stay, not upset the owners. On the positive side, the hotel is easy to find, has it's own parking, and the lady who checked us in, and who did the breakfast, was lovely. Our room was very comfortable and we loved having the river outside which drowned out any other noise. The dinner at the restaurant was very good and since it was the only place in town that was a relief. Typical European breakfast which was satisfying.
