    Beautiful small city in Switzerland.

    Beautiful small city in Switzerland. A perfect stop over city should you ever pass through it. Excellent places to eat, a beautiful river running through it and some great shopping. You have to stop by Musik & Vin and pick up some excellent bottles of wine, in particular, buy the local Swiss wines -- absolutley incredible.

    Initially the town doesn’t seem anything out of the ordinary...

    Initially the town doesn’t seem anything out of the ordinary but once you discover the old town core, the medieval wooden bridge, the paths and walkways along the river, the shops, restaurants and bars, it really is quite enchanting

    We stopped here for a short while because of an overnight...

    We stopped here for a short while because of an overnight stay during our trip to Italy. Olten surprised us with its beautiful city centre. The wooden bridge is something special. We had a delicious dinner at restaurant Orient. Lovely large portions to share.

    The city of Olten was much bigger, than I expected.

    The city of Olten was much bigger, than I expected. It has many restaurants. The great spot is the open swiming pool and cafe there. The ice cream is just perfect. Great activity for a solo traveler like me was a short trip to Tufelsschlucht, that's just 6km away. Also it is great to go for a hike to the mountains and have dinner in the small castle on top of the mountain.

    I recommend Olten to everyone who wants to tour Switzerland...

    I recommend Olten to everyone who wants to tour Switzerland while remaining in the same Hotel, thus without bringing your baggages with you while touring. I was able to cross Switzerland from east to west and north to south during my stay in Olten. This is not possible if you stay in another village. Nice old town. Well connected quiet village. It is in fact a train hub for switzerland.

    We actually did not stay at this hotel but their partner hotel Arte (5 min away by foot), so it was nice that they kind of upgraded us from 3 to 4 starts and did not charge extra for that because it was not our fault (hotel Oltnerhof was closed). Review for hotel Arte: amazing place, good facilities, modern and super comfortable furniture, great bathroom with everything you need... breakfast also has a lot of things and coffee machine is good. The ladies at the reception and at the breakfast restaurant were really nice and helpful.

    I like the Room, but I didn't like the service. It is a Hotel, but no reception after 11pm. My train was late because of rail construction at night, so noone was there to help. I got 2 different box codes, one per email and another one by phone. The Terrace said that is closed at midnight, I went up at 11:45 pm and the waiter didn't let me have drink or sit in the bar because she wanted to close. She also didn't want to receive the payment cash because she wanted to close.

    It was possible to drop our baggages before check in and it was so easy checkin and checkout. Staff was very polite and helpful. Cost effective way to stay in Switzerland than major cities like Zurich, Lucerne. Hotel location is just 30 mins away from Zurich by train and all long and short distance trains will stop at Olten which is really convienient.

    My one night-stay was superb. the staff, the services, the room, cleanliness, and the breakfast was really nice. location: downtown, altstadt, parking 5minutes on foot, 350-400m. restaurant of the hotel (sixieme) : nice view over the city. resto and cafes are around the hotel. From now on this will be my drop-off point in the area.

    The rooftop bar was incredible beautiful and the drinks were tasty we had a lovely bartender. Room was clean and spacious and breakfast was lovely. And the staff was friendly and helpful. Everyone including the cleaning crew spoke English. I definitely recommend.

    The room was excellent and came with Air Conditioner unit. The bathroom and room were spotless and well-appointed. I didn't have breakfast due to lack of time. The hotel's close proximity to the railway station did not detract from my comfort.

    A pleasant and functional hotel very close to the station and centre of town. Bed was comfortable and I slept well. Room fittings were basic and the shower was adequate. Breakfast was very good and the staff were all excellent.
