Main reason to go their was the Indian Ticino Ride, Close to the lakeside and in the middle of the city we could celebrate until Midnight. Time was to short to discover all the beauty in and around. We took some short rides with our motorbikes having best weather.
We will come again.
Great place on earth.

Awesome small town on the shore of Lago Maggiore.
Awesome small town on the shore of Lago Maggiore. Clean, all buildings and streets are perfectly maintained. Very green, extremely picturesque - placed between Alps slopes and lake shores , with palms and lot of flowers growing around. Small but beautiful Old town, tasteful food. Just a small heaven on Earth, it still is expensive.

Locarno was fantastic but the funicular operator put me off.
Locarno was fantastic but the funicular operator put me off. He refused to speak and just pointed to tickets and signs when asked questions. Nobody was there and his vibe was we we're putting him out.

Locarno has a lovely location on the shores of Lake Maggiore. In addition Locarno has developed a continuous walking and bicycle trail along the lake. We spent half a day walking to Ascona - another lake town. Another day we took the train 30 minutes to Bellinzona to explore the UNESCO world heritage castles.

Amazing cable car then ski lift up to the top of the Alps,...
Amazing cable car then ski lift up to the top of the Alps, still snow on the peaks in early September. A beautiful situation at the top of Lake Maggiore, but considerably more expensive than the Italian resorts . Would recommend the Centrovalli train from Domodossola and the cable cars
We had an excellent 3 nights' stay at Al Pozz. Although the staff can't speak English, they were very friendly. Breakfast was good and we loved the cuppachinos! The hotel is just 100m - 150m from Locarno train and busstation and this was very convenient for our different day trips. Our double bedroom with ensuite bathroom was big and comfortable and enough space to unpack our stuff. We also enjoyed the balcony. Definately recommended for fellow travellers. Keep up the good work and your hospitality!
We really enjoyed our stay in Locarno. The host was very helpful and very kind. The room had everything we needed - nice and comfortable bed with very smooth bed sheets, little terrace and even an AC for the hot summer evenings. Furthermore the high-tech shower was a cool feature 👍 only the distance from the city centre and the the train station is a little disadvantage, but there are many buses going regularly in all directions from a stop close by.
Very nice looking renovated hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. Every time we had a wish or a question, they helped us immediately. The pictures in the hall show the past of the building, which was quite a ruin before the renovation. Now it looks amazing. It breaths the spirit from the old times and yet offers modern and comfy rooms. Breakfast was great with served coffee or hot tea and a good choice of food. We loved the vintage balcony!
It's a very nice, small, cute hotel. The staff is super-friendly, and helpful. A nice bonus when checking in was receiving a pass for everyone to get a discount on public transport, and the funicular train. The breakfast was delicious.
The hotel is located in the centre, and at the lake front. As a result almost everything (like bars, restaurants, and boat dock) is within a short walking distance.
The hotel is charming and atypical with a funny yellow elevator. It is in a nice and quiet neighborhood with shops and restaurants. During the evening you can hear the life around and the music from the bars in the background, that gives a good idea of the ambiance of the city. The breakfast has nothing incredible but very correct for the price.
Great location and price - right in the centre of the piazza. Very basic hotel room but had practically everything you could need. I was sceptical as I saw some other reviews saying there were shared bathrooms but that was not the case for me at all - my room had its own private bathroom as expected. Great view of the piazza and spacious room.
It's a lovely place very close to the lake, with a nice outdoor patio in front, a restaurant and breakfast buffet. hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. rooms are large with extremely large bathrooms with tubs, which i really liked. very amenable to me bringing my cat along with me to stay.
The balcony is very nice. The apartment is of good size and very new. The bed is comfortable. There is a coffee machine with plenty of capsules, something unusual and very welcome. It is somehow between Locarno and Ascona, so both can be reached by walk. However, busses and trains stop nearby.
It wasn’t my first time in H4 Hotel Arcadia, I actually go there always while coming to Locarno. The location is amazing, hotel is very clean, people working there are super nice and the most important - dogs are not only accepted but also very welcomed ! And the garden with pool!? AMAZING!
A very nice hotel in a beautiful building, very close to the train station for arrivals, departures & the Centovalli train. The lake is 5 Min walk away with plenty of restaurants. Also center is close by. The personell has been super friendly. I enjoyed my stay.
The location is perfect, very close to the center of the city and the train station. The room was very big and comfortable with a nice view of the city, the staff of the hotel were very helpful. The breakfast was very tasty
The place is amazing, close to Locarno, very comfortable to get there by bus with Ticino ticket. At the same time it was very quiet and calm place, amazing view. Very nice terrace for a breakfast.
The staff were very helpful, especially with the bus system. The walk down from the hotel to the lake was entertaining in and of itself. The room was comfortable and breakfast was good.
Location - great view, quiet location but only 10 min bus ride to Locarno center. Pool was very nice as was the garden/greenery between the two hotel buildings.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, and food at the hotel restaurant was very good. It's a lovely modern hotel, nicely furnished. We will be back!
