big town with lots of nice gardens and places to eat very clean town and easy point to go to Walhalla and gippsland lakes ideal spot to use as a base .Would not recommend some of the hotels to eat at .We ate at Traralgon Bowls great service beautiful meals and very well priced open to general public as well .

Traralgon is not really a tourist destination in my eyes.
Traralgon is not really a tourist destination in my eyes. It just happened to be in a convenient location for us to chill for a couple of days and do short walks and longer drives, before moving on to our ultimate location. There are delightful parks in the area, as well as lovely scenic drives. We found it fun to visit other nearby towns as well.

The area is lovely and quiet with a park and creek opposite, and a walkway bridge that takes you straight to the shopping area in a few minutes. The host left breakfast supplies and lots of little goodies for us to enjoy. The park opposite was great to take visiting children a place to play and enjoy. Hot water in Shower was great. Price you can't beat. If you aim to explore the area and just basically sleep in the motel . This is very suitable amd really can't be beaten. Also there a metal shutter on window which can opened or closed by electric switch, that keeps out light and noise and cold.
