Loved the self contained cottage .
Very neat and tidy.
Having your own little place with a small yard was amazing .
What they had on offer for breakfast and snacks was more than you would find anywhere.
And all included in the price.

Very spacious room with lots of space to set suitcases and clothes. Modern design, very clean. The car is literally parked on the other side of the door, so easy to load/unload and safe. Staff was attentive, smiling and helpful. Pool is clean and easy to access. Many good restaurants within 5 minutes drive (note: they only open at 6PM)

I had a great stay at this motel. The property was very clean and organized, I guess it has been renovated recently.

Super clean with everything we needed. Lovely comfortable room. Husband enjoyed Netflix
Greater by a very helpful receptionist and nothing was a problem. Great value for money and rebooked for our return journey.
Pretty disappointed with the rooms. We checked in later than normal and there were no keys or instructions on how to get the keys. When we finally got it from the safe, it took us 5 mins fumbling trying to open the door! Both rooms were the same! The taps in the shower and sink were loose and moving and we had to hold it down in order to operate it. One of the rooms bathroom door wouldn’t fully shut as the slide door was stuck. TVs in the rooms weren’t working either? The hot water urn wasn’t turned on for coffee/tea in the morning making us guess and turn it on ourselves. Milk ran out and no replacement.

Great place to stay for a small remote town.
Great place to stay for a small remote town. Plenty of dining options. We enjoyed visith the Shearing, WWII POW and Old Gaol museums and a short drive up the highway to the sunset viewing area over the vast plains.

Hay is a great town with loads of history and town-proud residents. It's worth stopping in and spending a bit of time is you can afford to. Make sure you drop into the Hay RSL Services Club for a drink or a meal. The club is very welcoming.

Hay is a great stop over for your road trip.
Hay is a great stop over for your road trip. Time to rest and enjoy a walk around the town and beautiful park settings with friendly ducks keeping watch over their young. Restaurants in the area certainly know how to feed hungry road travellers. The Pizza takeaway in Lachlan street, is not to be missed. Friendly atmosphere and tidy town with history looked after in every way. You have to stop here.

On this occasion we did not have time to stay longer in Hay, so cant give a useful comment. However, when we found ourselves ALMOST without a bed, a motel owner generously rang around, and found an appropriate room for us for the night. As is generally the situation, the country people often go out of their way to assist people. We certainly want to go back there and spend at least a fulll day exploring the region.
Everything about Morro's Place is very considered.
The location is just off the main street so it's lovely and quiet but you can still enjoy a nice stroll to get dinner or to walk down to the water towers to see the beautiful murals there.
The place itself is sparkling clean and beautifully appointed.
Jack and Zoe, the hosts, are incredibly generous with their snacks and breakfast options too.
The rain shower was an unexpected luxury.
I couldn't recommend Morro's Place enough, the only place to stay in Hay.
The food cooked on site in the restaurant is unbeatable. The restaurant is run by exceptional chefs experienced in cooking a diverse range of regional dishes. All dishes were cooked using fresh ingredients... I love to cook authentic Indian myself and I could not fault the food.
We took 5 weeks to drive from Qld to Adelaide and back stopping off in most regional towns in NSW. I have fond memories of Hay due to staying here. If I lived in Hay I would sample all dishes and 'eat' my way through the menu.
An immaculately clean and beautifully appointed unit, in a quiet pretty street only a block away from the main street and also the river. The hosts have gone the extra mile, so the place feels as comfortable as home but as well appointed as a luxury hotel room. It was perfect for my needs and it was a pleasure to spend time in the unit. There is an excellent range of food and drinks available, which proved very convenient as the grocery store was closed when I arrived in town.
Set back off the Sturt Hwy but quiet. The room was fine and clean and the bed was comfortable. Loved the fact that they provided windscreen washing equipment... a good thing to remove the bugs from the Hay Plain drive.
Hay used to be a town we avoided on our trips between Adelaide and Canberra but it is now our usual midway stop. The town is nice, lots of walking paths along the river and the Bistro in the local pub provided good food.
From the moment we booked through to our departure, we had a fantastic experience. Can't thank the staff enough for all their patience and assistance. We travelled with our dog, so they explained their policy carefully. The cabin was immaculate on arrival, and air conditioning was on so that we were cool immediately. Dog Park next to the park, which is super convenient. Would definitely stay here again.
The location of the cottage was fantastic allowing us to see a section of Hay we had not seen before as we had always stuck to the main street when traveling through. The cottage is roomy, practical and the owner clearly enjoys decorating. The bedrooms were beautiful and the stay was well priced for a family that needed space. We would happily come again.
Everything was excellent. The management were very friendly. The room was so clean & tidy & spacious. Great night sleep. Good location to clubs & pub for meals. Attention to detail down to providing a window washer brush & bucket to remove bugs from your car windows. Important when you travel out this way.
This place was absolutely fantastic.
Had the charm of a country hotel but with the feeling of a fancy suite.
The upstairs balcony was an amazing place to sit have my coffee in the morning before heading off on adventures!
Quiet and central, highly recommend. If a bee had knees. This would be them.
My wife and I can say that the Nicholas Royal was the best appointed and comfortable hotel, exceeding that of higher costing options we gave tried. Great hotel, central location to the main pub and eatery, comfy bed, friendly host and a great night's sleep. Can't recommend it enough 😉
Clean and tidy single room that served the purpose of an overnight stay perfectly. Staff were friendly and location right in the middle of Hay was ideal. Great amenities: tea and coffee facilities and a little fridge, plenty of towels. Comfy bed. Will stay again.
The pet friendly with two small dogs was great to be able to take them with us on our travels. The included breakfast took the pressure of the getting food in the morning after long day travel and having place cool when arrived instantly relaxed us.
Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The location was fantastic as we could back in our trailer and not worry about security and there was ample room adjacent to the room. We could also walk to the South Hay Hotel for a fantastic meal.
A wonderful historic hotel that has been renovated to modern standards, providing clean, comfortable accommodation, secure parking and exceptional location in the heart of town. The bathrooms are especially spacious and well appointed.
A good little motel. Comfortable bed. The kitchenette has been renovated. Excellent customer service. Great location for a travel break. Barbecue area a real bonus, too cold to try the pool though.
Friendly family run,; clean, well appointed room with fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle, tea, coffee etc. great complimentary traditional curry and rice for dinner; pet friendly - a great stopover!
