We visited the Siding Springs Observatory , Warrumbungle Nation Park , Also Pilliga Pottery , Just a few of the places to see , Lots of other drives you can do out of town, We had meals at Bowling Club & Imperial hotel .

Now, we were there for work, and I managed to get sick, so I missed out on a few attractions, but Coona seems like a nice, friendly town. My family managed to get to see one of the observatories, and see some of the planets in real life, including Saturn's rings, so they were absolutely stoked. Apparently a new telescope will be operating there soon, with even better views.

Good sized town with lots of accommodation options.
Good sized town with lots of accommodation options. Good supermarket in town and options for fuel. Excellent bakery and other food options right in town. Great base for visits to the Warrumbungle NP and the Pilliga Scrub NP. A Dark Sky town with information easily obtained. Felt comfortable walking around town after business hours.

Well back from the highway it is a quiet location. Full breakfast makings are provided and I was able to prepare and cook my evening meals and enjoy the shared lounge. Shared toilets and bathrooms were entirely adequate. Hostess was very welcoming and helpful and accommodating. Would highly recommend as great value for money and a pleasant experience in Coonabarabrand.AnneAustralia

There is a large Woolworths shop within 500 meters from the hotel and the National Park is an easy drive away.
