Really responsive host who was extremely accommodating to our requests (early check in, travel cot). We had children with us so the high chair and stairgates were a bonus. Amazing location, spacious living area and lovely views.

Pretty little town on the lake, with a couple of excellent restaurants nearby serving local cuisine mostly. Lots to see, lovely walks, hikes and drives. One glaring problem they need to address ASAP. Gmunden lacks a decent 4/5 star hotel. There are a couple which are adequate 3 stars.

Very nice city with a breathtaking view with a castle on the lake and high hills covered in clouds. The lake is crystal clear, so perfect for swimming, or sailing. There are ferrys that can take you to other parts of the lake. Just an absolutely gorgeous and clean city with very welcoming people. Many art galleries and all sorts of exhibitions. We also reccomend Hotel Zum Goldenen Hirschen in the city centre with a luxury design and very nice staff.

Amazing lake town, with a special sea-lake architecture. Small but charming and the locals are very friendly. The town offers many activities such as: an electric boat ride on the lake, a cable car that leads to the mountain above the lake, from where there is a fantastic view of the glaciers and the Alps.IvaAustria - 4.0Scored 4.0

The city is boring, it was a disappointing experience. The Esplanade Hotel in the City Center is a disaster (including a pizzeria there) - go to the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb (Croatia) and see what the service and luxury is. We left the day before, this is a city of old people….AAnonymousCroatia

I am vegan and the staff went extra mile and served a special vegan breakfast for me every morning, on top of the generous buffet that is also available. I was super pleased having my coffee with the almond milk :)) They also have a convenient parking free of charge, and we also used the bike garage to store our bikes. Everyone is super friendly and professional. I think it's the best choice in Gmunden, so book now :)ElenaCzech Republic

The breakfast is varied and well presented. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it was quiet and only a ten minute walk to the beautiful town of Gmunden. This is a family run hotel and the owners work there along with an exceptional team of staff, who organised take away food for us, taxis and train schedules to visit other places in Austria.

It has only been open for four weeks but their enthusiasm was infectious. The hotel is centrally located and very quiet, the beds comfortable and the rooms clean, light and airy. The food is great too. We didn’t have a problem parking - there is also another car park a short distance away but room to unload and check-in if you arrive late.

The room was clean, the host and the staff were very nice. In case you don't speak german, they speak english. There's a private garage for the guests, just enter straight from the main street and ignore the "traffic prohibited" sign (it doesn't apply to the hotel guests).
