No.8 is set in Stornoway, 2.1 km from Tràigh Thunga Beach and 27 km from Callanish Standing Stones. Museum Nan Eilean is less than 1 km from the capsule hotel.

The units in the capsule hotel are equipped with a flat-screen TV. At No.8 all rooms are fitted with a private bathroom and bed linen.

Very comfortable and nicely situated place. Spent two nights there, was just perfect. I got a comfortable nice clean room in a quiet street, just a few yard away from the marina. Hostess called now and then to ensure everything OK. Just perfect.

Looking for a capsule hotel?

Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable . It was great to have our Sunday evening meal at the hotel as most things are closed on a Sunday on the island - I would advice anyone to book a meal for a Sunday well in advance. The hotel has its own carpark and was extremely convenient for the ferry; especially for a 6 am check in. The hotel provided us with a packed breakfast when we requested this.
