I thought Machu Picchu would be the highlight of our trip but it turned out to be Kapievi and the Amazon!

Such an amazing relaxed place, we have had a really good time here. Comfy beds, everything clean, and the pool was very nice to cool off. Drinking coffee watching the sun rise at the balcony in the morning also was a highlight. We loved the beautiful garden with his dog, the chickens and the neighbor cat. Elmer and his family are so friendly, and they are willing to help with anything. He even arranged and gave us a Lago Yacumama tour, and we had a campfire our last night. It is a small drive from the city (we had a car), but Tuktuks regularly pass by and there are taxi's. I hope I get the chance to come back in the future!

Rosas house was an extremely comfortable and warm stay. Rosa and Elvis were very welcoming, friendly and very helpful during my stay. The area is so tranquil with wildlife and their own animals. There is lots of space to relax outside! It is a 10 minute walk up the road if you want to pick up some groceries, otherwise nothing much around unless you walk.

This was our second stay at Tronco Tambopata, and it felt like coming back home. We were so warmly received and hosted, and only wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were super friendly once again. Highly recommended!

JARDIN DE LAS MUSAS is a recently renovated apartment in Puerto Maldonado, where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. Amazing place in the Amazon. We really enjoyed our stay here, the bungalows were simple but perfect, all you need in nature. It was out of the center but if you are looking for something affordable in nature this is the perfect place.

Located a 15-minute drive from the bus terminal, Passiflora Camp offers accommodations in Puerto Maldonado. A complimentary Continental breakfast is served daily. Senor Eduardo is very welcoming and an excellent cook. He made us feel at home, helped organize tours and even came with us in the night to see the baby caimans in a pond on his land. The location is very quiet and secluded, the habitacion very intimate and in the night you can hear the multitude of birds that inhabit the area. Also, a monkey was on our roof during the night.

Tambopata Hostel is located in Puerto Maldonado. An American breakfast and free WiFi access are provided. The breakfast was delicious, you could eat as much as you want, and the rooms were very comfortable, there were some mosquitoes though, but I think it's because it's the rainy season. The staff was great!
