The building is very special and just behind Lamu Fort which allowed me to enter a Swahili Wedding. It was amazing.

The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

The staff and manager of the house so helpful. Lots of advice and recommendations where to eat. Also easy to find in the maze of Lamu, close to the jetty but far enough for a peaceful stay

The hotel was very clean and all the amenities were just as described The room was very spacious, the air condition and fan made it very comfortable. Jivanji was very hospitable and all the staff were very polite. Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the ocean. A good variety of Swahili goodies.

The property features garden and sea views, a barbecue, and free WiFi is available. Our view from our room was incredible. The staff was amazing and so helpful. They coordinated everything for us and made sure we were taken care of with airport transfers and activities around the island. The chefs were also wonderful. Overall and amazing experience and we hope to be back :)
