There was a little bit of a language barrier, but we easily resolved that with Google Translator. This was my first stop among many through Switzerland and its location is great; very close to train station, accessible hikes for a lifetime, and a great stop before exploring the rest of Switzerland. Irma was also extremely kind providing me with a transport pass for my time there, which was useful taking the train from Boudry to Noiraigue for the hike down the Areuse Gorge (highly recommend this hike). I'll definitely come back if I'm fortunate enough to visit western Switzerland in the future!

The location is great, quiet but close to the city, bus station next to the house (goes directly to city center) or 15 mins on foot. A coastline to walk along in the evening. The neighbourhood is really cosy and quiet so i could relax after hiking or spending a day on tour. The flat was spacious with all necessary stuff and even more. The hosts are nice and super helpful, very friendly. Plus: with the tourist card you receive you can use all transportation in the canton Neuchatel and enjoy traveling around, hiking, visiting museums and even boat trips

Built in 1750, the Ofenhaus was originally used for baking bread and is situated next to the owner's farm house 1 km from the centre of Murten. It was transformed into a modern studio in 2013 and offers free WiFi and a fully equipped kitchenette. We loved staying at the quaint little ‘Ofenhaus’! It was everything we expected, based on the Booking.com description, and maybe even a bit better. :) The cleanliness was exemplary! I really am quite exacting concerning hygiene — and this place was literally spotless! The whole place smelt of fresh laundry when we walked in — it really doesn’t get any better than that! The water temperature and pressure in the shower are great! Since both my husband & I have long, luxurious hair, this is a crucial point for us. Many holidays have been ruined, alas, because of bad (cold, weak) showers — but not at the ‘Ofenhaus’! Everything works to perfection! The location is really quiet & calm, but the beautiful medieval town of Murten can be reached on foot (via a short walk of 1km). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely book the ‘Ofenhaus’ again if we happened to stay in the area in the future!

The Chambre Littoral 65 is situated close to the A5 motorway and halfway between Neuchâtel and Yverdon. The owner offers the opportunity to pick up people arriving by train in Gorgier or Bevaix for a small fee. Rosemarie is the real gem of this property! She speaks several languages and is fun to talk with. She was helpful in every way and let us use a little space in her fridge and freezer. Her custom breakfasts ( always with FRESH bread) were great. 😋 And the booklet of free activities available there from the canton are great; we needed more time to see more of them.
