Our stay at Barcaldine was a dream come true! Veronica was the most lovely host we could wish for, who helped us out with getting there from the village and made us feel right at home. The surroundings were beautiful, the room was incredible, every detail was tended to and the bed was heavenly. There were a lot of options for breakfast. Considering it's a real castle stay we found this to be really good value for money. I would not hesitate to come back and recommend to others! Thank you for a once in a lifetime experience!

Ards House is a traditional Victorian Villa situated on the shores of Loch Etive, in the small picturesque village of Connel. It is within a 15-minute walk from Connel Ferry Train Station, a bus stop and the local pub.

When we arrived we were very warmly welcomed and had a very nice talk with the owners. They asked about us and suggested some places that we could visit or things we could do. Through our stay they have been nothing but kind and lovely to us. I really loved the room and lounge and I don't have anything I would've liked to be different. Room was cleaned every day, clean mugs everyday, coffee and tea options in the room with a cookie or something like a chocolate and the view from the room was just amazing. Watching stunning sunsets from the window while reading a book on a super comfortable couch, is one of the highlights of our travels. :) The owners are open to suggestions and are happy to hear what they can do to meet your expectations. If there ever is something that you would like to know or tell them, just ask. That made me feel really safe and seen as well.

The barn was quaint and cosy, clean and comfortable, great host who was very informative about the family croft and area, it was so peaceful and quiet, set in a glorious area, it was a bonus having a great restaurant on site open six night's a week serving delious food. An ideal base for seeing the area.

Fantastic host who gave us great local knowledge and assisted in changing our plans due to cancellation of steam train caused by rail strike. Property was spotless and having a guest lounge was a real bonus. Great location in the countryside and very quiet. Would definitely stay again if in area.

Elaine was a great host and did everything she could to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We requested vegan options for breakfast in advance and she went out of her way to cater for us. The location is quiet and out of town but still within easy driving distance of Oban and other regional attractions. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, we would happily stay again.
