During our stay, the staff were very kind and the Swahili breakfast was delicious. Jivanjee was so helpful in linking us to affordable services such as dhow rides and helped us in anything we needed.

Located in Lamu and with 18th Century Swahili House Museum reachable within a 1-minute walk, LAMU HOUSE has concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a restaurant, free WiFi and a bar. The staff were really accommodating, couldn't do enough for you. Rooms were very authentic and clean. Food in the restaurant was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Beytsalaam Apartments offers accommodations in Lamu, a 7-minute walk from Gallery Baraka and half a mile from Riyadha Mosque. When staying at the apartment, guests can use private entrance. We had a great stay here. Despite the power being out in all of Lamu, we made it work and the place was clean and comfortable. Jivanjee was a great host and greated us at the beginning and end of our stay as well as connected us to local guides.

The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.
