We loved our 2-night stay here. The house is comfortably sized for four, kitchen is well-equipped, there are clear instructions where needed. This is a family vacation home rather than just a tourist cottage, and it really felt like something special the owners were sharing with us.

Laxhús is situated in Laxamýri, 85 km from Akureyri. Free private parking is available on site. Husavik is 8 km away. All units feature a flat-screen TV. Some units have a seating area and/or terrace.... Beautiful little lodge with terrace and lovely view. We had everything we needed. The place seemed like new and beautifully decorated. Good quality bed and bedding.

Vetursetur is a holiday home with a terrace, located in Aðaldalur. The property is 80 km from Akureyri and free private parking is provided. This cabin is not the most modern and chic but it felt so cosy and authentic. The lava formations around it were magical and it made for a great first base for us in Iceland and we stayed 2 nights - we really felt like we'd arrived somewhere really different. We love wildlife and were delighted to find a snipe on the porch on the first evening, loads of golden plover (including chicks), redwing and curlew. It was super cold when we arrived (weather obviously not the fault of the owner!) - about 4 degrees C in July, the wind was really going for it too - the small radiators were on and we quickly found the heater and were very cosy in no time. The bedrooms are very compact as is the bathroom but everything worked and was comfortable. We loved the inclusion of a good bean to cup coffee maker too. The location was excellent for days out in Husavik and Myvatn, we would have been happy to even have stayed a bit longer. It is off the beaten track, but the owner gave us super clear directions and we had no trouble finding it at all.

Located 5 km from central Húsavík, Saltvík Farm Guesthouse offers accommodation with views of the surrounding mountains and Skjálfandi Bay. The location is great! it’s so peaceful and relaxing! We had the room 3 which has a great view, it’s a large and super comfortable! We stayed the night and we were able to fed the horses, it’s close to Husavik and the main road. The best thing is that we were able to see the northern lights right outside of our room, all guest were outside explaining others the phenomenon, taking each other’s pictures, it felt like a little community The staff is the kindest, and the breakfast was really good, especially the coffee! thank you Saltvik! you made us feel at home away from home!!

The place was magnificent. This was our best stay in Iceland thus far. The room was comfortable with a table outside and a view to a waterfall. We stayed later than any other during our visit to Iceland. I highly recommend staying here.
