Hotel in Abu Simbel ( 0.8 miles)
Located in Abu Simbel, 5.4 km from Abu Simbel Temples, Habib Camp provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. We had an amazing time at Habib Camp! It was the most peaceful and relaxing place, only a 15 minute drive from the temple. The staff at Habib Camp were exceptional and extremely hospitable. From the very start they made sure we had everything we needed, and Habib (the owner) was so kind and made us feel like Habib Camp was our home. We want to also give a special shout-out to George and Abdul, who both worked so hard attending to our needs throughout our stay. Our trip to Abu Simbel temple was so special, but it wouldn’t have happened without the support and organisation from its amazing staff! Also a big thank you to the chef who cooked us some amazing, fresh food! If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing place to stay, I would highly recommend Habib Camp!

The host of Kony Nubian may be the smartest host I ever seen in my trip of Egypt. Without losing any detail, he knows how to arrange guests’ dwelling to maximise their benefit . Also, he could read guests’mind. That’s the reason why I feel like a VIP in the period of staying in Abu Simbel. No doubt, the quality of the “guest house” is the best one I experienced in my trip of Egypt.

Situated 1.9 km from Abu Simbel Temples, Safari Abu Simbel offers 5-star accommodation in Abu Simbel and has a casino. The hotel owner was really kind and honest. He told me the story of Rameses and Abu Simbel and it was very interesting. He was easy to contact through WhatsApp app. It is a 20-minute walk to Abu Simbel. It is 10 minutes away from the big(public) bus station to and from Aswan, and there are many delicious restaurants nearby. I recommend staying at this hotel for a light show in the night and visiting the Abu Simbel temples in the morning.

If you want to stay more time with the great temples, it is worth staying one, or more than one, night in the town. The town is quiet and clean. There are some small lakes (part of Lake Nasser) near the town, so it's pleasant to walk along the road or bridge.
Beautiful temples. Worth also looking into the other temples in the desert such as Aurora, wadi el-sabua anf Dakka. It is also a quiet & peaceful small town worth taking a few days to relax and enjoy the resort
I would recommend to stay at Abu Simbel to spend the night so the temple could be seen, 1st. without the morning crowds, 2nd. at night to enjoy the light and sound show (very good), 3rd. at Sunrise at 6am, having the best picture light.
Must see if you are visiting Egypt. I rate these temples above Pyramids and I have a reason for that. I think Pyramids and other sites in Egypt you will see, admire and appreciate but they won’t stay with you for too long. But Abu Simbel temples will stay with you and will leave an impact not only because of their grandeur but also because of the reason they were built and unprecedented effort it took to save them from being flooded and submerged forever. And despite being so enigmatic themselves, they give you some perspective..It’s been a few days that I have visited these temples but still when I close my eyes l, they appear in front of me…
A must visit historical place with a experience of a lifetime. We visited the sun festival on 22nd February 2024. Though initially we were disappointed with the long queue, the queue moved up easily and we were able to see the rays from 'Ra' shinning on the three statues. While waiting at the queue take time off frrom gazing at the magnificient temple to look east towards the "Ra" rising over the lake. The paintings on the walls are flawless specially more so when you begin to imagine that they were done thousands of years ago. Must visit the nefartari temple. Try the coffee by Lake Nasser.
Definitely recommend staying overnight here. We booked a driver to take us (group of 3 adults and 2 children) leaving at 9:30am from Aswan, stopping for a quick 10mins at Aswan High Dam on the way, and then going to our guest house (Kabara Nubian Lodge) for lunch. We then went to the temples for about 3pm - this was definitely a good time to go as there were hardly any people there and by about 4:45pm we were able to get solo photos inside and outside the temples. We returned back to Kabara for dinner and then our driver took us back to see the light show - which I'd recommend. You also get to take a few night shots of the temple lit up. I chose to get up in the morning to view the temple at 6am, as this is when the light hits the front. This aspect definitely did look good - but when I arrived at about 6:05am there were already a couple of coach tours on site and by the time I left at around 7am it was super crowded with at least 15 coach loads of people. I hate to think how busy it would have been by 8am! It was definitely the right choice to visit the day before in the afternoon!
