We stayed in Nafplio for 2 days but we could have stayed much longer because it is beautiful town with many places to visit. From here we went to Epidaurus, Tyrins and Mycenae, all these are extraordinary archeological sites. The Palamidi fortress is a huge medieval citadel that sits on a hill overlooking the city, very impressive and well conserved, a masterpiece on itself. The problem there is the parking lot which is really very very small for the huge amount of visitors. It is very crowded at most times. The city center is very picturesque, narrow streets with beautiful houses and flowers everywhere, lots of small shops and boutiques.AngelaRomania - 10Scored 10

Nafplio is a lovely and picturesque town, with lots of good restaurants and shops. It's in a lovely setting, and there are a fair few things to see and visit in the town itself, while it also makes a great base for exploring the rest of the Peloponnese. Great community market every Wednesday and Saturday. If you have a kitchen this is the place to shop. An abundance of various shops, souvenirs, clothing, jewellery and the like. Beautiful old town with small leeway’s and lots of restaurants and Botquite shops. Lovely Harbourside with plenty of bars and eateries. A 2k walkable pathway to shingle beach area. The castle is a must sea either by steps or drive up.

although nafplio itself is not large, especially if you stick to the old town which is the most interesting part it is a good base for local tours either with a bus/ktel, affordable taxi or a car. We would have liked to at least check out Epidavros as well and a near by monastery. if you plan to visit nearby sites without basing your self in nafplio 2 days is plenty other wise 4 days to fit Mycenae and Epidavrus

3 nights max is perfect for Nafplio during the winter season. The city is beautiful, the Venesian forst was fabulous and the food is good. The only issue I have with the city is the terrible smell, air quality that seems to start around 5pm and continues until about 8 pm.

Lovely individual rooms, Akis was answering all our questions re Nafplio and gave us many tips. In the morning we were offered to have breakfast on the balcony of our room, which was lovely and very good! I would go there without hesitation. It is recommended to park at the big public parking and walk to the hotel - it is very close and easy to find. Akis provides you a little map before arrival and it’s super easy! Thanks to Akis and his family!

The room had a small coffee maker and heating unit so we could make breakfast easily. Great staff super friendly and helpful and the cleaning staff do great job and keep room spotless. Overall one of the best experiences in Greece.
