Party town! Plenty of choice for eating out. Cafes and wine bars. From the cheap to the expensive up market restaurants. Quality of food excellent and cheap. Great community market every Wednesday and Saturday. If you have a kitchen this is the place to shop. An abundance of various shops, souvenirs, clothing, jewellery and the like. Good nearby beach and sightseeing of ruins.

although nafplio itself is not large, especially if you stick to the old town which is the most interesting part it is a good base for local tours either with a bus/ktel, affordable taxi or a car. We would have liked to at least check out Epidavros as well and a near by monastery. if you plan to visit nearby sites without basing your self in nafplio 2 days is plenty other wise 4 days to fit Mycenae and Epidavrus

3 nights max is perfect for Nafplio during the winter season. The city is beautiful, the Venesian forst was fabulous and the food is good. The only issue I have with the city is the terrible smell, air quality that seems to start around 5pm and continues until about 8 pm.

A great place with lots of history and plenty of places to eat. Very quaint in the old town and as the tourist season runs throughout the year, it was still having things open during December. The castle’s are well worth a visit and the shops in the old towns are very much craft related. It’s not expensive to eat out and it’s well worth a visit but it’s not a very big town so about 3 days would be enough. If you stayed longer, it would be as a base to explore all the old heritage sites located within a hours drive. Definitely get a hire car as no train comes out this far. There are a lot of shops and restaurants all around the hotel. We we're right on the beach. If you would like to swim, you can walk around the mountain pass, and find a little beach to hang out in to swim. One you are done, you can walk the 999 steps up to the castle. Beautiful hotel location, near everything!
