It was a little noisy at night if you prefer to go to bed a little early.

It was really close to a subway station. The bunk bed was very sturdy and comfortable. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was really delicious.

Not much to say here! The guesthouse has lots of charm and can be a bit creaky but that added to the whole experience in my opinion!

The cutest little guest house and hostel! The staff (many of whom are volunteers) were so helpful and kind — they go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Everything was kept very clean. I stayed in the all female dorm and it was cozy and quiet at night.

My only dislike is that I couldn't have stayed longer. Excellent accommodation.

The staff are fantastic, and the double room was spacious and atmospheric. It even came with a little balcony. The staff held our bags for us for the day after our check out, which was lovely too. The bar is excellent and has the friendliest staff as well as other patrons to meet and share experiences with. I've previously stayed in the boarding rooms too, which was also a fantastic experience. I will definitely be returning.

BEST PLACE EVER ! Far better than I could have imagined. If you go to Tokyo and want to be out of the crazy center, definitely stay here. It’s a paradise! The people that work there are BEAUTIFUL people. They are all so kind and happy - such positive energy ! So kind and helpful ! Yume is one of the ladies that works there and she is just the nicest person ever ! Hina helped me booked a taxi for the next morning and was SO HELPFUL too ! So was Yoshi ! They keep the place so clean too ! And in the evening it turns into a bar for a few hours. Everyone hangs out and gets drinks ! It’s just such a special vibe! My favorite place I stayed at in Japan so far ! It’s not just a hostel - it’s an experience ❤️

Really beautiful and cosy place with helpful and friendly staff. Location is convenient; there is a lot to see and do only in Ueno area. Public transport works well.

the location isn't the best if you plan to go to harajuku for example. its a bit far off but i liked it anyway

Really beautiful property. I really liked the house and the garden. its soo pretty! very big kitchen with a table to eat. felt like a little second home because it was so big. the bar at the entrance is nice to talk to people.

There was no television. However, that information was available online and hence, came at no surprise at such.

We really enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse toco. The bed was spacious and very comfortable and the room was extremely charming with a big balcony overlooking the little japanese zen garden and shrine next door. The shared bathrooms and showers and kitchen were very clean, comfortable, well equipped and handy. We particularly enjoyed being able to have an authentic japanese experience by living in a traditional japanese building with double sliding doors and the free drink at the bar each nice is a lovely extra. I vividly recommend !

The house can feel a little crowded in the morning if the property is fully booked.

Very cool little hostel. Staff was very friendly and able to explain the house rules in English very well. The bed was comfortable and the historic little bunkhouse was beautiful and a really cool experience to stay in. There was a little bar/living area open during the day/evening. Had a drink there with the staff and some of the locals. Everyone was very friendly and, I had a very nice time.

I love the shower room so much. It provides me with big shampoo and soap bottles. I was always happy whenever showing at Guesthouse Toco.
