A very fine hotel at the heart of this beautiful city.

It seems rather overpriced for the area now, prices have rocketed since last year. The room was very hot, the fan not quite powerful enough so it made sleeping difficult on one night. The cooked breakfast is wonderful but the continental, especially the fresh fruit is not really good enough for this price.

Having written a glowing review of this hotel last year I was looking forward to my return visit. I still think it's one of the best hotels in the area albeit with some reservations. Very comfortable and luxuriant rooms. The duck in orange sauce was superb for dinner and one of the best burgers I've had in a long time.

Couldn't park at hotel as we came back after 6pm in car which meant I had to get up early to extend parking in a municipal car park.

Location , hotel decor and proximity to parks , theatres and shops.

Room was cramped, bed way too high and bedside tables way too low with only one huge bedside lamp stuffed in the corner. Dinner was pricey and bland.

All the staff were great - from the front desk, bar, dining room and house-keeping. The shower was excellent.

Next time, will ask for a larger room, if available.

Our room was extremely comfortable, though a little small. Location in the town was extremely good with a choice of restaurants near by, but not near the Harbour! Our breakfast was first class, tasty and good portions. We will use the hotel again when we visit Chichester...

The complimentary gin was good, but neither of us drink gin. There was an alarm that went off around 10.30 pm which woke us with a shock as we were both asleep. There wasn’t anyone to reassure us all was ok, however we looked out & seemed to be a false alarm which was good..

Very friendly & welcoming. The room was lovely & a very nice touch with card & chocolates,as it was my husbands 60th.

There is no aircon in the room. They relied on mobile fans, which really didn't cut it.

Room was a beautiful Georgian high ceilinged room with original marble fireplace but room completely lacked any paintings or ornaments/flowers and was bland and rather “undressed”. Covid is no excuse anymore for blandness!

Elegant and comfortable hotel in a great position for all that Chichester has to offer

Brighter reading lights would have been nice as the room was quite dark due to it's age and period. The bath (and it's always lovely to have one) was designed so that you couldn't turn the taps on unless you were sitting in it, because the shower guard was fixed (or stuck) - seemed a bit odd if it was designed that way.

I haven't stayed here since well before lockdown and it has had a very good overhaul since my last visit. Maybe new owners? I booked a single room but was upgraded as it looked much bigger and smarter that the one in the picture on the website so that was a lovely surprise. Huge, comfy bed, fridge in room and decanter of gin as well as mini bar. Excellent freestanding fan as the weather was hot when I arrived. Very nice staff.

The bar prices were expensive in comparison to other establishments, but the beer was very cold, crisp and flavorsome. Having paid £205 for a one night stay, I was shocked that we were charged an additional £10 to park the car in their carpark and additional charges for breakfast!!!

Bed was so comfortable and the staff were really friendly. The room was clean and welcoming. I loved the old 1930's elevator...shabby chic

The room this time was very small but was still nice. Hotel has introduced a £10 parking charge which even tho they waived it this time as I’ve stayed so often before I didn’t like the idea of that.. also this time breakfast was in addition rather than included. The bathroom products have been scaled down too… not as luxurious- cut backs all round I guess , sign of the times.

I’m very fond of this hotel, stayed here several times. Beds super comfy, good breakfast , great location and friendly staff.

Air conditioning needs to be thought out or bigger fans it was unbearably hot especially when trying to shower etc. the bathroom shower was hard to get in and out of because if the rigid screen. Anf I feel breakfast wasn’t great and nedds better options but should also be included in your stay.

The room was lovely as was the hotel. Staff we’re fantastic Down side no air con and it was ridiculously hot. I also think breakfast should be included in the price

No gents toilet on the ground floor. Very old lift not always available as doors not shut properly by other people.

Best service we have had in any sort of hotel since before lock down. Staff were friendly and attentive. Service was very quick. Hotel was clean and well presented and room was very comfortable. Excellent city centre location.

I felt that value for money could have been better. The room price and the food at the restaurant although very tasty, was over priced. When I stayed although only at the beginning of June the weather was really sunny and the rooms were very hot. Despite trying to accommodate with a fan this didn’t make much of a difference to the temperature of the room. For a high standard hotel like this it would be expected that air conditioning would be an option as it did really impact my sleep whilst I was there. Which was really unfortunate as the bed itself was super comfortable.

Really enjoyed my experience at the hotel. Staff were really welcoming and friendly and went out their way to help me. The food in the restaurant was really nice and I enjoyed using the gym and spa facilities.
