Ripabottoni is a small town in Molise and I hate very good GENUINE HAM, BREAD, SALADS in typical Restourants.
We have a house not far from this lovely little town so go there often to get groceries etc Bagnoli del Trigno is set in the most beautiful undiscovered region of Molise Italy the whole area is so green and lush rivers forests hills with little villages perched on top and the stunning Majella national park it's like driving into Tibet this place is the Emerald of Italy .
Antico borgo at Bojano for dinner A great pizzeria in San massimo for dinner Visiting surrounding area - also went to Cassino & Montecassino from here Lucito lovely little Molise village to visit on route back to Abruzzo
Termoli is the ferry port for crossing to the Tremiti Islands. It has an attractive small old town which is where we stayed. Otherwise the town has not a great deal to commend it and has not made the effort to welcome international or, at least, English-speaking visitors. The town guide is in Italian (sure, Google Translate helps) and there is no Tourist Information Office that we could find. The railway station lacks platform elevators and gives no indication where the bus station is located, in fact quite a distance away. As the bus station network is the only practical way to see the interior of Molise, this information gap is unhelpful. The bus station likewise gives no indication of where the railway station is to be found. Perhaps the two organisations could start talking to each other!
Campobasso is a beautiful and safe city. Beautiful to walk through and shop. There are very nice restaurants that are nestled in and around the cobble stone streets where the locals dine. Just ask and you will be very satisfied with the friendliness and charm of this characteristic city. There are many local bars to enjoy an aperitivo and assaggi of the Molise region. It is also just as great to sit and people watch.
beautiful tiny town of 30 thousand people.. I also visted the other Molise region where I was born.
Most of Bagnoli has remained much the same as when I first visited in 1969 with my parents to their early home and place of birth. Aside from doing a minor facelift (restoration) to the exterior of most of the buildings, with some newer that have been built, this small hamlet is basically unchanged. Not to say that the interiors of most of these homes have remained unchanged, the upgrades that have been done would rival or exceed what is found in most newer homes. A tribute to the ingenuity of the grand and great grand children in maintaining a family legacy in this town. To truly appreciate what has been dubbed the "Pearl of Molise" one must arrive to this quaint retreat in the mountains just prior to the town fair in August. Within a matter of days the town turns into a small Mardi Gras with individuals attending from all over Italy and other parts of the world. There is a parade that provides a fairly accurate representation of the style, garment and dress of centuries past. The fair goers are treated to delicacies that are unique to this town, from a form of soup made with pasta and wine to a style of fried bread (both are a favorite of mine) to pastries that provides a kalidascope of flavours to your palate. The fair culminates with a phenomenal fireworks display. I will admit that it would appear that I'm biased, but I assure you that the town and surrounding areas will offer you a very good insight of why Bagnoli del Trigno is called the "Pearl of Molise".
Isernia is a nice little town in Molise that seems to be a real jewel in an already nice Regione. The historic centre comprises of many backstreets and alleyways and is wonderful to just walk around in. The centre also boasts a number of good quality, friendly restaurants, cafes and bars.
It was perfect, excellent location for the beach and we hired a car .. the road network is good to explore Molise and it is easy to get around the local area as well as taking the autostrada to Pescara, 1 hour Gargano 1hour or if you wished across country to Campobasso 1 hour or even Pompai 3 hours for the more resilient traveller.
We love staying at LA Fonte - it's in an excellent location, (very accessible when you have a car and are traveling in Molise,) it is very clean with a nice staff (some even speak English) ..and they have a parking lot & a GREAT restaurant on the premises! This is probably our 8th time staying there (we have family in the area.) And when traveling, we also bring our friends with us there.. And will continue to do so.
We are a bunch of typical Americans searching for our roots in the Molise region. We prefer the hotel experience over other types of accommodation. In my opinion, this hotel has it all. Great breakfast and dinner services, a full spa/sauna, big rooms, and a fantastic view! The location isn't in the middle of town, but it's got the PERFECT view of Campobasso, which I'd rather have any day! We will be back!
Campobasso
Everything was great! Super clean and comfortable apartment in a recent building. It is near Molise University and to small shops that have great local products. The apartment has all the amenities you need. Also felt like the location of the building is in a safe area and family friendly. Nice relaxing view from the balconies. The pictures on the site are updated and show exactly what you will find at the apartment.
easy access, all the staff were amazing and could not do enough for us. Resort was unbelievable, food was presented with such professionalism and absolutely stunning (breakfast and dinner) pool spa and other areas were amazing,as for the rooms wow wow wow. Great location for our needs in touring the Molise I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone and will be returning in the near future but stay longer
Almost perfect! The staff is friendly and very kind. The location is wonderful. Terrific breakfast with a lot of vegan and vegetarian salty and sweet options. The room was large and clean, with a beautiful sea view.
It is difficult to explain just how perfect these accommodations are. I have been traveling for six weeks and Hotel Santa Lucia is by far and away the best place I’ve stayed. The staff is very helpful, the rooms and common areas exquisitely appointed, the location excellent, and the breakfast is stunning - freshly baked on site cakes, meats, fruits, made-to-order eggs and coffee. A five star experience.
Staff in Hotel and Restaurant were great. Beautiful Views. Food in restaurant was great both morning and evening.
The Hotel in a perfect position overlooking the beach with a wonderful view of the walled city. We had a lovely room with a spa on our balcony that was great. The receptionist’s were very friendly and informative. A good breakfast included.
Localization, friendly staff, good price
I loved the pool & beach access. The staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was great including eggs and ham sandwiches.
We travelled as a family witj two kids. Very Friendly staff, great atmosphere especially for the kids. Great value for money. We''ll certainly come back.
Quiet and fresh style with all youneed for few relaxing days by the sea. Owners really friendly and healpful.
The place is just perfect. A very quirky old village just converted to a high standard hotel. They managed to keep the original charm of the small cottages but with a complete modernisation. They are comfortable, warm and cozy. The staff was just perfect and being able to help with any request we had. They also provided a babysitting service last minute for 7 kids, which was amazing! The spa is just the cherry on top
The location was perfect. From our terrace we could see the Castello and sea plus the festa with Saint. The breakfast was good as was the service. A wonderful small pensione offering good service and a warm welcome.
The location, overlooking the ocean and right in the middle of the old town. The facilities are top notch and the staff extremely friendly!!
