We wanted a hotel a bit outside the town center, with a secure place for our car, and found just that, but we also found so much more. This is a quite family hotel, run by the most welcoming and friendly staff, from the women who welcomed us when we arrived to the owner couple serving us the best French breakfast you can desire. We were just driving through, and stayed just one night, but if you want to explore the Loire valley, Castel Fleuri in Tours is the place for you. We will return and do that!

Wonderful city with its very evocative cathedral and even lovelier old quarter . The city centre is pedestrianised which made it easy to get about .Plenty of written information everywhere . The area also has many chateaux and fortresses to visit and many had activities and re-enactments of medieval fighting , plus others with special events.Also not that far from Paris ,so an ideal destination to use for touring. One word , we ate near the cathedral and had the worst steak ever in France ( we lives in France for five years back in 1995) ,I would'nt even wrap it up to give to our dog .

We would have loved to have had longer to stay here. Beautiful town. Old town beautiful and lively with modern new shopping centre just a few minutes walk away. Lovely relaxed feel overall with river and easy town to get around. Public transport cheap and easy to use (under €4 for 24 hour pass that can be used on tram or bus) and main train station so easy to get to see lots of other little towns around the Loire for about €20 return for day trips. In top 3 for places we stayed in our 6 weeks through Europe. Close to castles / chateaus etc. The wine tours are popular so have to book in advance for those but we did our own as we hadn't booked and there is plenty of info available on pamphlets and office de tourism very helpful 😄

A good centre from which to easily explore some of the Loire chateaux. The city of Tours also had its own interesting areas to wander round. We particularly liked the cathedral with the flowers, banners and the magnificent stained glass windows. It was special to see that effort had been put in to celebrating the significant anniversary of St Martin. We enjoyed eating in the student areas where to food was tasty and good value and the staff friendly and welcoming.

Tours is a great base to explore the Loire valley from.
Tours is a great base to explore the Loire valley from. Several chateaux are within 1 hour distance (by car) and you can easily hit 4 a day if you were so inclined. There are several tour options available from the Tourist Centre located very close to the train station.. There are good restaurants of all types in and around the old medieval area. Spending one day exploring the city is generally sufficient. Don't expect the local Chateau to be anything like the popular ones.

We arrived at the Chateau Royal d'Amboise at 9.30am, following previous tourist's advice. There were very few people around and the sun was shining. The views from the chateau are magnificent as is the interior. This was probably the highlight of the trip. We also went to Leonardo's house, Clos Luce, which was very interesting, particularly for children. The extensive grounds were lovely for a shady stroll, on the hot day we were there. Our accommodation was within easy walking distance of the Centre, which was a great help. Overall this was a lovely place to stay.

Tours is a very pretty town with a fantastic old centre with loads of great restaurants and bars all located within easy walking distance. It has an efficient tram system for getting around and lovely river walks. Also a great place from which to visit the chateaux of the Loire.

Location was Great, near train station and near conference centre. Good for local bars and restaurants. Hotel itself, quite dark, bar, poorly equipped and service poor. Stayed with colleagues for 3 nights. Rooms basic, but clean. Stairs to reception quite dangerous with lights coming on when you are already in the staircase. Breakfast was OK, with most essentials. A good 3 *, but not at the rated 4* level. Night reception staff, breakfast staff friendly . Location good for business travellers.

Hotel is conveniently located near to the Cathedral, station and the city centre. Its carpark is immediately behind the hotel, at an extra charge. We found the hotel to be very good value for a city centre location, suitable quality decor and facilities for its price range. Reception area is spacious and welcoming, with a lounge area immediately adjacent. Staff is helpful and courteous. Our room (3rd floor) was spacious and light, good ventilation and good views towards the Cathedral.

Location is right in the heart of the old town so very convenient for all major sites. The centre is very busy but the room was nevertheless extremely quiet. Very friendly and informative welcome and the room itself, whilst not large, was more than adequate and clean and freshly decorated. Breakfast was both good and good value. If you want to stay right in the centre (which will require parking some 200m away in a secure car park) I would highly recommend Hotel l’Addresse.

The Hotel du Manoir is a very nice hotel and much better than we would have expected for 2 stars. All parts of the hotel are very clean and the breakfast is excellent and in an attractive space. The hotel is very well located to the motorway and is an easy walk over the river to the city centre. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The staff were very friendly. I recommend this hotel.

Very friendly, welcoming staff; cute room. The hotel is a quick drive easy walk from the train station and city centre. It was a shared shower but the room had its own private 2-piece powder room, so that was great.

The hotel is new, room & bathroom are spacious, modern and clean. Staff are friendly, helpful & thoughtful. Location is near the Centre ville. Will come back again to Tours and stay at Les Tresorieres.

Location of this hotel absolutely best. Just beside a supermarket, river side and close to the centre to name a few. There is a standing fan available in the apartments. All in all a comfy stay.
