It was a great one night stay. The hotel is just perfect! The room was fully renovated, clean and cozy. The bathroom was extremely clean. The overall atmosphere was really friendly even though we arrived late. Breakfast was really tasty with a huge choice of everything. I definitely suggest staying in Sawohouse hotel! Thanks for hospitality! It's a great place!

Hotel Golden Dome Iisalmi is 4 minutes’ walk from Iisalmi Train Station. It offers free parking and modern rooms with free WiFi. Iisalmi Bus Station is 500 metres away. friendly staff and very nice food in the restaurant

Located in the Finnish Lake District and 10 km from central Kuopio, Spa Hotel Kunnonpaikka offers free parking as well as free pool and gym access. It's a really nice hotel with great facilities. Spa is really good.

Located in the heart of Kuopio, this hotel offers rooms with luxury bedding and a flat-screen TV. The hotel also offers free sauna access and a gift shop focusing on souvenirs from Lapland. The location, 1 min walk from the Train station, 3 min walk to the new train/bus station. 10 min walk to the city center. It was the best hotel i stayed in Finland so far. Love the Artic Pine scented soap/shampoo.

Fine dining and superb jazz - what a great idea. Spa Hotel Runni is situated next to a meandering river, beautiful location. The "jazz menu" was a delight- 2 starters, a main course of braised salmon and 2 contrasting desserts. The two chefs provided a gourmet experience. Then a wonderful jazz concert by a trio led by the virtuoso, Iiro Rantala. All in all, a perfect evening. Saturday's brunch was also great, the normal hotel breakfast selection complemented by a large selection of cakes - the Sacher cake was perfect. Hopefully, this will be the first of many jazz and fine dining evenings in Runni.

Situated in central Rautavaara, near Lake Keyritty, this hotel offers international cuisine and rooms with private terraces. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi and free private parking. Nice place to sleep over while driving to or from a hiking trip. The hotel is about 15 min away from the Tiilikkajärvi national park. Our room had own etrance and sauna, and a small terrace in the back (with a couple of old chairs), facing a pond. We also had a kitchenette, but without a stove, so did not use it. There is a grocery store right next to the hotel. The building of the hotel is not new, but the shower had been renovated and a modern keycode lock on the door made life easy. Incredibly friendly hosts, made us coffee to go in the morning.

Hotel Oscar is next to the Warkaus-Sali Concert Hall in Varkaus, 1 km from Varkaus Station. It offers free WiFi, private parking and free access to a gym and sauna. We return to Oscar every summer, it never disappoints as a stopover hotel on our way to South.
