The house is in a very quiet area, surrounded by forest and a small river, providing a nice availability for short and long walks. The interior is lovely and cozy. We enjoyed the high-quality homemade food, which was plentiful. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay and were able to completely relax.

Gabrovo in the heart of Bulgaria
Gabrovo is the Bulgarian capital of humour and if you go in May you may see the carnival of humour. The House of Humour has a unique collection of cartoons from all over the world and organises a biennial of humour and satire (the next one is in 2017). The ethnographic museum Etara is worth a visit and is only a few kilometres from the town centre. Here you can get a glimpse of the local crafts people in their workshops. Using original instruments they make beautiful pots, rugs, jewellery, and traditional music instruments. You can combine the trip to the Etara with a visit to the Sokolski Monastery where in the little blue top church you will find some exquisite frescos. The old Bulgarian capital Veliko Turnovo is under an hour's drive from Gabrovo. Don't miss visiting the little mountain town of Triavna and Bozenci village.
