Valley of the Temples
Greek glories. This ridge outside Agrigento is an archaeological treasure trove, and one of the world’s best-preserved collections of Ancient Greek architecture. Within one area, you can wander between the stunning Temple of Concordia, built in the 5th century BC, the visibly ancient Temple of Vulcan and the Temple of Olympian Zeus, sacked by the Carthaginians in 406 BC.

It is a charming place, too many people everytime but it is nice to be there, experience the place and enjoy the view. It is also a must to go on the Vaporetto and see the bridge from the Grand canal.

It was very crowded in the off season.
It was very crowded in the off season. I can't even imagine the crowds in the high season. The main canal under the Rialto Bridge is the highway with all goods and services moving through. It isn't the serene paintings that you typically see. Rather it is highly skilled captains and gondoliers that are narrowly passing one another.

No accessible way for handicap people to cross the bridge to get to the other side. Only 4 bridges in the entire place are accessible. I had a very difficult time getting across with my walker. Imagine a person in a wheelchair bound that cannot walk. Also the streets are little blocks that are dangerous when you walk. That's the way things roll in Venice by boat and by walking.

Stay away during crowded hours, and keep an eye out for pickpockets. But be sure to see it, but go early in the morning or in the evening -- it's a centrally important feature to the history and culture of this great city.

Great views but always busy with too many people.
Great views but always busy with too many people. I recommend coming here either in the early morning or early evening (7:30pm onwards). I came here just after 7:30pm - it was mid-May, so still daylight but approaching sunset - and snapped pictures of sunset over Venice. A magical moment.

Beautiful views from this bridge, but the other side of the bridge facing the other way has the best sunset shots I think. More people crowd on the Rialto side, I preferred the view from the other side. On the 'other' side, If you're facing the canal and you go halfway down those bridge steps on the right you'll get the best shot, because the curve of the canal shows more houses that way, and they take on a lovely glow in the sunset light, reflected in the canal.

Everything: the location (near the Rialto bridge), the large apartment, the breakfast (offered), the kitchen, the amazing coffee machine, the nice and modern decoration of the location, the high quality of all equipments, the great host (Maurizio).
The stairs to access the facilities may be an issue for some people, but we were aware of it before the trip. We got used to it very quickly.
We were for 7 nights in Venice. After the 3 first nights spent in the 4th flloor, the hotel has no elevator (correctly indicated in booking.com), that was the " purgatorio", we arrived the last 4 nights in "paradiso" in the 1st floor. Breakfast was very good for the money/quality and diversity ratio. The staff was very polite and helpful. The room very clean, beds ok. The hotel has the large advange of less than 7 minutes from San Marco place and less than 5 minutes from Rialto bridge. Good restaurant nearby.
Located in a quieter area of Venice which suited us but still walking distance to say the Rialto Bridge in under 10 minutes. Very spacious for us as a family with two children, extra space always helps. Liked that we could check-in early (confirmed first with host) and could leave our luggage in the apartment after check-out. Has outdoor patio which we didn't really get to use as it was cold or wet during our stay. Well equipped with washing machine as well.
Everything! Amazing location, atmospheric apartment, lovely decor and beautiful bathroom. Staying here was pure joy for all of us. Francesco was an amazing host, lovely to chat to and helpful. It’s in a quiet part of Venice form a tourist perspective which meant we could wander round without feeling overwhelmed with people like you do in the Rialto Bridge area, however everything is within a 10 min walk and there are lots of great places and eat and visit within minutes!
The location is absolut perfect. 100m to Rialto bridge and directly on the Canale. The rooms are large (at least for Venice) clean, and comfortable. There are only 5 or 6 hotel rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK but not outstanding.
That’s definitely a great hotel to stay in Venice! Modern and comfortable apartments with everything you may need (even a washing machine was there, which of course we didn’t use). Great location (10 mins to Rialto Bridge, big supermarket Coop is about 5 mins to walk).
Hotel is located in a quieter part of Venice but only 7-9 minutes to main sights (St Marks Square, Rialto Bridge). Staff were friendly and hotel was very clean. Room was fairly basic but perfectly good for a few days stay. Nice touch of mosquito killer in room. Included continental breakfast was good - but see below.
Vaporetto stop 'San Samuele' (main line 2) is just 5 mins walk away. And Stop 'San Angelo', for Alilaguna boat to airport also just 5 mins away.
The staff was very helpful, I enquired how to get to the hotel and they replied very efficiently with clear instruction. That helped a lot as I have always lost direction in Venice. Upon arrival, the gentleman manning the reception also gave me clear instruction how to operate with the entrance code so it was all clear.
The location is great - only 10 minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge and St. Marco Piazza is also within 20 minutes.
The hotel is located close to the most important tourist attractions of Venice. You walk equal distances both to the Rialto Bridge and to San Marco Square. From the window of the hotel room we could see the small canal crossed by gondolas with gondoliers carrying tourists, sometimes even singing. The room, furnished with taste and attention to detail, helps you enter the story full of history of Venice. The breakfast exceeded our expectations.
The location of the hotel is super! View from the breakfast table is right to the Great Canal. Easy to go walking around the Venice, right next to the Rialto bridge. The room was really lovely, small and cosy. Has everything you need, even Netflix if you want to rest your legs. The view from our room was on to the narrow street, it was nice!

Avoid the rialto bridge area, full of tourists and troughs with eager salesman trying to sell you pizza. Don't be afraid to explore the back streets, it is cooler and quieter, and you'll find some great sights.

Walks over the little bridges, standing on the Rialto Bridge looking across the Grand Canal
It's just so beautiful. Everywhere you turn, so romantic. Walks over the little bridges, standing on the Rialto Bridge looking across the Grand Canal. Seeing and finally sailing in a gondola, which I have always dreamed of. Just simply beautiful.
