Oxford Street
Stretching out for a mile and a half, you can pretty much buy anything under the sun on Europe’s busiest shopping street. Big British shopping institutions like Primark, John Lewis and Selfridges stock most of it, while the smaller shops toward Tottenham Court Road can still turn up the odd gem if you keep your eyes peeled.

The whole world is here.
The whole world is here. I love the busy nature of this street. If you are the type that travel with family, please make a budget first. After my first day with my family, many years when the children were young, I learnt through the hard way. Unlimited spending affected my budget. please don't carry the family to this street without budget.

Oxford Street doesn't have a great reputation among natives of London. However, in the 1980s I would go there to shop at Selfridges for clothes. That's a classy department store and worth a visit.

I love Oxford street, so much to do and see. My only tip is- If you don't like the rush hours like me, try going there early (very early) in the morning. Oxford as become so so crowded that it's not comfortable walking there

Don't bother!
Don't bother! Over rated tourist trap full of brands you can find on your high street , tat shops and sweet emporia. A real drop in standards and choice from what the old shopping area used to be.

Some buildings are very nice in this buildings and are really good great historical value, some are hardly maintained or never maintained. The good thing is that there is variety of shops in this street for all budgets . They down side is it doesn’t feel safe, the road is relatively narrow ( British standard) and it’s over packed with tourists and obviously lots of mugging going on, I’ve heard of one when I was there for two hours only.

Location- just off Oxford Street was even better than expected . Very close to Marble Arch tube
Hotel is very attractive and colourful inside. Good facilities and 24hr shop etc.
Drinks in the bar were lovely, breakfast was good and my mum was offered gluten free toast and other options.
The location is great, near the park, Oxford street. We are used to traffic, so the noise did not bother us.
It was enough space for all of us (two families), hot water, comfortable beds. The shop is very close.
Location was excellent - situated behind Oxford Street - nearest underground is Bond Street with a five minute walk to the hotel. Room was plenty big enough for the two of us and the breakfast was very good.
Great location. Within walking distance of Oxford Street for the shops, and Cafe Rio opposite was a great breakfast place. The apartment is modern, with modern furnishings (smart tv) and the kitchen well stocked that you can easily cook a meal. Beds and pillows were so comfortable it was hard to get out of be each morning! The neighbourhood was extremely quiet safe and with a pub, chemist, M&S foodhall as well as other shops right on the doorstep, it was just great. Photos on the advert look exactly as the apartment is in reality.
Great location, the reception staff were amazing. We were going to go to Oxford Street and Westfield and the mentioned the local markets and local restaurants that were excellent.
Exceptional standard of cleanliness, comfy beds, breakfast great choice of continental and traditional, the staff were also exceptional, friendly and attentive nothing was to much trouble. Location fantastic around main theatre district easy walking distance to Oxford street, Trafalgar square where you can pick up a bus tour, or shop in Carnaby Street!
Location was just off Oxford Street. It was ideal for my requirements. The room was perfectly adequate and the bed was comfy. Reception was friendly and able to assist me with everything that I needed for my stay.
Staff at the breakfast room very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. You can walk to Oxford Street, close to the tube, close to the park. A great hotel would return to this hotel.

If you want to do some shopping, but want to avoid the crowds, you should stay away from Oxford Street and Portobelle Road on Saturdays. Take a trip to some of the boroughs outside the city's centre and discover the local atmosphere. Ask someone in a shop or the staff at your hotel, if you need a few suggestions for a good day out away from the crowds. I usually ask them where they go for a day out.

Avoid the busiest shopping/tourist areas (there is much more to London than Oxford Street and Trafalgar Square)
