Loughview Lodge takes its name from our horse, Loughview Holly, as well as having a sea view of Belfast Lough from the upstairs living room. It is situated on the Blackhead Coastal Path with The Blackhead Lighthouse just a 10 minute walk along the lane or take the 115 steps down to the shore. From there Whitehead Village is a 15 minute walk or turn left and follow either of two paths which will lead you again to the Lighthouse. The famous Gobbins Cliff Path and the village of Whitehead are both a short drive away. Belfast is a 30 min drive or take the train from Whitehead Train Station. The Lodge is in a quiet, peaceful area and is set in large, mature, secluded grounds, which are for your exclusive use. PLEASE NOTE: During winter 2024 we have had to install essential infrastructure which required digging up parts of the garden. This will be re-seeded during Spring 2024. On arrival you will find a welcome basket consisting of cereals, milk, pancakes, butter, jams, marmalade and biscuits. This is in addition to our selection of complimentary teas, coffee pods and hot chocolate. From the upstairs open plan living/dining room watch the ferries and cruise ships sailing up and down Belfast Lough and if the weather's poor, curl up with a throw on the comfortable sofas and watch something on the 55 inch smart TV, which includes Netflix, with a complementary coffee or hot chocolate. The Lodge can accommodate six people and we have a fully equipped kitchen with a hob, oven and microwave. Towels and bedding are supplied and the spacious bathroom has a large quadrant shower enclosure with a drenching shower and complimentary body wash and conditioner. The integral garage area has a washing machine and dryer, extra fridge and a freezer. The Lodge is off a private lane which is uneven, so drive slowly! There is not much traffic, meaning it is a quiet, relaxing location, whether you are looking for a base to explore or a romantic get-away, it is perfect for all occasions!

Loughview Lodge is situated off a private lane with little traffic. A series of 115 steps, at the bottom of the lane, will take you down to the shore. There are several walks in the area, either towards the Blackhead lighthouse, or into the village of Whitehead which is about 15 mins by foot. The Whitehead Golf Course is just along the lane where you can have a meal or relax in the bar area. Visitors are welcome. There are several cafes in Whitehead as well as an Art Gallery, The Railway Museum, Tennis courts, a home bakery, a butchers, a fruit and vegetable shop and a grocery store with a post office. The Gobbins Cliff Path is a short drive and has a visitor centre and cafe.
