A 10-minute walk to Islington Park, a sprawling green space on Throsby Creek, offers BBQ and picnic facilities, while Newcastle Beach and nearby Fort Scratchley, Nobbys Beach and the heritage-listed Bogey Hole, a convict-built ocean swimming pool, are a 10-minute drive.
