Our cosy, rustic alpine cabin, just 15km from Cradle Mountain is set in 105 acres of native bushland, providing the perfect, peaceful getaway. We regret that we don't cater for children, people with disabilities or pets. Native flora, fauna and birdlife abound providing great photographic opportunities. Enjoy bushwalking to Bridal Veil Falls, watch the afternoon wallaby feeding sessions or just soak up the peace and privacy of the cabin. Cuddle up on the lounge room settee with the warmth of the woodheater and enjoy the selection of DVDs, videos and CDs or just sit and read. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen - and a dining area with handmade timber setting - and we supply a range of continental breakfast supplies. The bathroom contains a shower, toilet, vanity unit, hairdryer, washing machine and ironing facilities. Upstairs, the mezzanine bedroom, with its steep pitched cathedral ceiling adding to the country atmosphere, boasts a handmade timber double bed, there’s also a comfy single bed which, like the double, has an electric blanket.

With our love of wildlife, bushwalking, and the natural environment, living here is an absolute privilege. We are passionate about saving our endangered species and together with kind donations from some of our guests, we have 'adopted' a number of Tasmanian Devils and quolls, thereby helping fund the research programme run by 'Devils at Cradle.' Our adoptees and many other animals can be seen when visiting the 'Devils at Cradle' site up at Cradle Mountain.

As well as Cradle Mountain itself, there are some of the world's best trout lakes and streams, wineries, tourist towns and attractions within an easy drive. Just 8.5ks up the road, at the Moina intersection, is the Cradle Forest Inn - open daily from 8am to 8pm - which boasts an excellent restaurant with great atmosphere and a well-stocked bottle shop. A few nearby 'Must see' places include 'Tazmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot'; Sheffield - the town of murals; Latrobe, with its Axemen's Hall of Fame and the chance to see a platypus or two swimming freely in the river.
