As far as getting around by bus, I’d say it’s possible but getting to the place itself is a bit of a long ride (especially if coming from Narvik), I’m happy I had a car.

The nearest airport is Leknes Airport, 64 km from the hostel. We had a short stay, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Situated at the very end of the Lofoten Islands, this accommodation is located above a Stockfish museum (unfortunately closed during our winter visit) and right next to the bus stop, just a 2-3 minute walk away. There's a fairly big parking spot, making it easy to get to and from nearby destinations like Reine, Moskenes, and Hamnøy. The neighborhood is charmingly quaint, and we had a fantastic view of the ocean from our room. Check-in was smooth, with everything communicated via the Booking.com app. Inside, it's warm and cozy, with towels provided. There's plenty of room for luggage, and the kitchen is cute and equipped with all the basic amenities for cooking simple meals. One tip: there are no convenience or grocery stores nearby, so be sure to bring supplies if you plan to cook for yourself. There were some condiments and spices available for free use when we were there. Huge thumbs up for the location, value for money, and amenities. We'd love to stay here again during the summer!

On Lofoten’s rugged coastline just 400 metres from the centre of Kabelvåg fishing village, this hostel has a sauna, BBQ area, laundry facilities and free Wi-Fi. A breakfast buffet is included.

A light and spacious lounge with a fireplace is also found at Lofoten Vandrerhjem, and the hostel has a garden looking out onto the sea towards Kabelvåg. The breakfast was outstanding with lots of fresh and high quality food! A lot of things were freshly home made, like the still warm bread, waffles and crispbread. We got a great, clean and spacious room (ensuite facilities), with a sofa and table area by the windows overlooking the canal - we enjoyed the sunset behind mountains from there.

The bed and the duvet are really comfortable and the kitchen has everything to cook a meal. The owner are easy to contact if you have any questions and they are friendly. I like that we need to remove choose in the entrance it makes it more cleans to walk around.

Arrived with the ferry from Bodø to Moskenes and decided to stay in Å for the night to start our Lofoten trip at the southern point. Authentic old rorbu house in the middle of Å. We were skeptical towards shared bathrooms but were pleasantly surprised. They were very clean. In fact, the one we used as a family has not been used, and the facility was fully booked. It is very nice to have a mutual understanding and respect of spaces when shared with others. We got to see the catch of the day from a group that just returned from a fishing trip, which was very exciting for our little one. See fish being gutted, seagulls swarming the area, and crabs fighting on the ocean bed below in the crystal clear water. The room was spacious and had a sink, which was a plus, so one could wash their face and brush teeth in the morning.

The rooms at the hostel are all located on ground floor. There are shared bathroom erea in the basement and shared kitchen/diningroom on second floor. The best value for money in the Lofoten Islands! This is a former school dormitory converted into a hotel. We had a wonderful stay; the room was spacious and comfortable, and the host warmly welcomed us with great flexibility and recommendations for exploring the area.
