Hi i had heard that this hostel had gotten a bad review and i wanted to say that have been here for some time and although you may not see it if you stay only for a short time but this is actually a very friendly place. I understand that the main complaints are about not finding staff when you first come here and that is the only problem i had so i just want to point out for people that usually you are supposed to wait in the bottom floor until they see you on the camera, the staff are sometimes on the second floor. But if you are not seeing any staff you can walk inside two white, and wide doors up to the Mosque, there you can ask for the staff just remember to take your shoes off and be quiet and polite as it is a Mosque. Also i read someone complaining of drug use and that might be a misunderstanding as i was careless and left my medications on the table, so overall this is a very nice place :)

Big sized apartments with plenty of space for a family. Great location - secure, cheap-ish parking right across the road. Good to have cooking facilities. Handy to have key codes so you didnt have to remember key card every time.
The location of the youth hostel is very good, cost-effective and the sanitary conditions are also very good. The hostel is also equipped with enough toilets and bathrooms, and it did not feel crowded. There is also a fully equipped kitchen.
Great location - very close to the Hallgrimskirkya and Rainbow street. Very easy to get to other pick-up locations, e.g. Bus Stop 12, by taking the street right in front of the hostel. Great value for money and hygiene. Very straightforward and pragmatic check-in/out system - no need to find a receptionist, which is suitable if you arrive late. There is a bar on the top floor and it can be useful premises to meet people. I would definitely choose this hostel again if I were to return to Reykjavik.
Amazing hostel. Great location! The beds were really comfortable. Great vibes and a good place to meet people if you are a solo traveller. I also loved the live band at the weekends! I will defo come back and stay here when I come back and visit Iceland!
It's a cheap stay in Reykjavik, near the center of the city and free parking
Great location. Safe location. nice people.
The price is cheap, and it's convenient for airport transfers - though only if you use the bus company that has an affiliation with the hostel.
Big hostel set up in what looks like an old school. Comfy enough beds. Lots of parking. Great location. The kitchen had the essentials. Stayed here twice on both ends of my ring road trip
Dated and basic facilities - like a old youth hostel (but with private rooms), but kept clean and warm, and overall good value for money in Reykjavik accommodation terms. I booked different rooms for my stay due to availability but they kindly were able to move things around so allowed me to stay in the same room throughout, which was helpful! So I would recommend overall: if you don't need fancy facilities and just a place to base yourself it's perfect
I loved how cosy and home-like it felt, the common areas were well lit and comfortable to sit and dine in! The entire hostel was cleaned every morning and the staff there were very friendly, especially Kristina who made sure we never ran out of milk for the free cereal, teas and coffees! And I loved how there was a female only dormitory, it gave me enough privacy to feel safe and secure whilst visiting Iceland!
