Excellent hostel in a beautiful old building, super clean and feels updates inside. Staff were very helpful and would go out of their way for the guests, though they are fairly consistent about the times the shop and meal stations open (would have liked the shop to be open a bit more, the meal station was understandable). Beds were comfy, in private room. Shared bathrooms were well maintained and clean. Dinner (we had burger/fries and curry) was great after a long day's hike on the GGW, Breakfast was sufficient for the day's hike with hot or cold only options (the hot option was rather nice). They also have a self cook kitchen and a small store where one can buy some food to cook and for the trail. Fairly good access to the trail, though it's a slight walk along a busy road, would be better if they can get a direct connector into their backyard. Laundry room was great to have. We also had a friendly rooster who liked to hang out with the guests. it's really an example of why hostels are such great fun to stay at.

I was in one of the tent boxes - it was ample space and confortable thanks to the matress. The staff where very helpful and let me store a bicycle in a dry and safe place. Great location, beautiful landscape, would recommend it 100%.
Fantastic hostel with great views, our group had the place to ourselves. Great location, facilities, comfortable beds, lovely hot showers etc. highly recommend a stay.
The owner is very friendly and will always be available to help you in case of need. The hostel is well located within the center of Thurso, close to coop supermarket to buy groceries that you can easily use with the kitchen. The rooms and overall structure is safe, warm and cleaned daily.
It was a great option to travel on a budget. James was very friendly when he showed me around. It is nice that the room has an en-suite-bathroom and that there is a kitchen in the hostel.
Comfortable, clean and well equipped apartment. Easy to find and in the center of the city., great location for exploring. Had the bonus of safe parking.
Exceptional modern interior, great location and safe for the family. We would definitely stay here again.
Great location and super clean hostel. While it was by no means cheap as far as hostels go it was in a truly beautiful location and immaculately clean. We were two adults and a 17 yo and we slept very comfortably in a four bunk room. I was also surprised at how comfy the bunk beds were. We arrived late and were lucky enough to grab last call for dinner at the bar/restaurant just 1/4 mile south of the hostel. Again, location location location.
She is a lovely landlady, very hospitable, very clean hotel - the landlady takes a lot of pride in her home. Great location, right in the center of town. I came by motorbike and the landlady let me chain my bike to the railings - felt very safe to leave overnight.
Best hostel I went in Scotland. The employees were so nice and friendly. I had the best time there. I was there only for one night and I wished I could have been there a little bit longer. The night I was there, the staff organized a Scottish dance night party, It was so nice. It's the best hostel to meet people.
We booked it for a party of 9 looking for something super cheap for a budget holiday. We agreed we need to be prepared for a low standard since the cost was significantly lower than any other accommodation around Inverness. When you arrive building looks tired but the service we got at reception and newly redecorated rooms were shocking standard of 4/5* hotel. Superb standard and great location for driving tourist - 30 min to Loch Ness , 30 min to castles and a little town it’s located at is a definition of a bargain
